Detailed description of the installation process of Oracle 11g Database in Linux

Oracle11g database installation specification in Linux

I. Instructions on downloading Database Installation Software (including patches)

How to install software in Oracle Database:
1. You can upload data to the server through ftp.
2. Download from the official Oracle Website: (from 11.2.0.2, ORACLE does not provide update patches, but only provides the complete installation package)

Ii. database version requirements

The Oracle database version for this installation specification is: Oracle 11.2.0.3.0

Iii. installation environment requirements 1. system hardware requirements

The system must meet the following minimum hardware requirements:

  • Memory Requirements
  • System architecture requirements
  • Disk Space Requirements
  • Show demand

Basic requirements of the hardware system

2. operating system version and patch matrix

Oracle 11gR2 requires the OS to be at least RHEL4.7 and the Kernel to be Kernel 2.6.9.
As a production system, we require the RHEL 5.6 64-bit version, namely:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 5 Update 5 x86_64
The following RPM software package needs to be installed (the 32-bit version of the software package is annotated with 32bit parentheses, And the 64-bit version of the software package is corresponding to the one with the same name without annotation. On the 64-bit platform, both versions must be installed ):
Binutils-2.17.50.0.6
Compat-libstdc ++-33-3.2.3
Compat-libstdc ++-33-3.2.3 (32 bit)
Elfutils-libelf-0.125
Elfutils-libelf-devel-0.125
Gcc-4.1.2
Gcc-c ++-4.1.2
Glibc-2.5-24
Glibc-2.5-24 (32 bits)
Glibc-common-2.5
Glibc-devel-2.5
Glibc-devel-2.5 (32 bits)
Glibc-headers-2.5
Ksh-20060214
Libaio-0.3.106
Libaio-0.3.106 (32 bits)
Libaio-devel-0.3.106
Libaio-devel-0.3.106 (32 bits)
Libgcc-4.1.2
Libgcc-4.1.2 (32 bits)
Libstdc ++ 4.1.2
Libstdc ++-4.1.2 (32 bit)
Libstdc ++-devel 4.1.2
Make-3.81
Sysstat-7.0.2

3. Network Configuration Requirements

In the production environment, try to bind two NICs of Mbit/s to prevent single point of failure caused by NICs, network cables, ports, and individual network switches.

Iv. system parameter adjustment and description 1. Adjust Kernel Parameters and User restrictions

All the following operations must be performed by the root user and the operating system can be restarted to take effect.

  1. Edit the/etc/sysctl. conf file and set the system default values of relevant parameters. If the file already contains related parameter settings, make sure that the parameter value is not smaller than the following values. If no related parameter settings are available, add the corresponding parameter settings line in the following format.

Fs. aio-max-nr = 1048576
Fs. file-max = 6815744
Kernel. shmall = 2097152
Kernel. shmmax = 536870912
Kernel. shmmni = 4096
Kernel. sem = 250 32000 100 128
Net. ipv4.ip _ local_port_range = 9000 65500
Net. core. rmem_default = 262144
Net. core. rmem_max = 4194304
Net. core. wmem_default = 262144
Net. core. wmem_max = 1048586

  1. Edit the/etc/security/limits. conf file and modify the operating system's restrictions on oracle user resources. Add the following lines to the file.

Oracle soft nproc 2047
Hard nproc 16384
Oracle soft nofile 1024
Oracle hard nofile 65536
Oracle hard stack 10240

2. Enable asynchronous IO (AIO) of the operating system)

The package to be installed in Part 4, 2nd, has a libaio-0.3.106, which enables asynchronous I/O by default.
Check whether AIO is running in the operating system. The running command and display result are similar to the following:
$ Cat/proc/slabinfo | grep kio
Kioctx 51 120 320 12 1: tunables 54 27 8: slabdata 10 10 0
Kiocb 30 30 256 15 1: tunables 120 60 8: slabdata 2 2 0
Note: If the database uses a file system and uses asynchronous IO, You need to modify the initialization parameters of the database.

  1. Set disk_asynch_io to TRUE (default)
  2. Set filesystemio_options to ASYNCH.
