Note: The following information is my collected and summarized information, which is not necessarily accurate and is for reference only. If there are errors and deficiencies in the information, please point out and correct them, let's work together to improve this technical document.
This file provides a variety of information about the system CPU, obtained from the CPU test code in the kernel. This document lists general CPU models (386,486,586,686, etc.), along with more specific information (manufacturer, model, and version ). The document also contains the processor speed expressed in bogomips. If multiple features or bugs of the CPU are detected, the document also contains the corresponding identifier.
Run CAT/proc/cpuinfo in Linux, and the following CPU information parameter list is returned.
Processor: 0
Note: This information indicates the processor number, which starts from 0, that is, the first CPU is 0, the second CPU is 1, and so on.
Vendor_id: genuineintel
Note: vendor_id represents the x86 series CPU manufacturer ID.
For example, "genuineintel" or "authenticamd ".
CPU family: 15
Note: The CPU serial number produced by the CPU manufacturer can be used to determine which product the processor belongs.
For example:
The 6 series Intel processors include the Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium II Xeon, Pentium III, and Pentium III Xeon processors.
The 5th generation includes the Pentium processor and the Pentium processor using MMX technology.
The F series intel processor includes the Intel Pentium 4 series processor (including the celerom processor with the same core ).
6 series amd processors actually refer to K7 series CPUs, duron and athion.
However, for non-x86 series CPUs, the value may not be displayed.
Model: 4
Note: The model ID can be used to determine the processing technology of the processor and the generation (or core) of the series. The model and series are usually used in concert with each other, it is used to determine which specific type of processor the computer is installed on. For example, determine whether the celerom processor is the core of Coppermine or tualutin; whether the athlon XP processor is the core of paiomino or thorouhgbred.
Model 14 indicates that the CPU uses the Coppermine core. Even if it is P3 or P4, there are also a variety of different cores in different periods. The improvement of the core can greatly improve the performance. Coppermine previously had the Katmai core, followed by the tualatin core.
Model name: Intel (r) celeon (r) CPU 2.80 GHz
Description: model name. You don't need to talk about it.
Stepping: 1
Note: Step numbers are used to identify the design or production version of the processor, which helps to control and track more changes to the processor. Step numbers also allow end users to more specifically identify the version of the processor installed in the system, determine the internal design or production features of the microprocessor. The step number is like a small version number of the processor. For example, if the cpuid is "686" and "686a", it is like the relationship between winzip8.0 and 8.1. The step number is closely related to the core step.
CPU MHz: 2794.192
Note: CPU clock speed.
Cache size: 256 KB
Note: The cache size shown here is the value of the L2 cache. However, when the operating system cannot recognize the L2 cache, the value of L1 is displayed here. The details should be obtained through dmesg: # More/var/log/dmesg | grep Cache
Fdiv_bug: No
Note: No fdiv_bug
Hlt_bug: No
Note: No hlt_bug
F00f_bug: No
Note: No f00f_bug
Coma_bug: No
Note: No coma_bug
FPU: Yes
Note: I guess it is to determine whether the CPU has a floating point unit.
Fpu_exception: Yes
Note: I guess it is to determine whether the floating point unit of the CPU can throw an exception.
