I. preparations:

1. Prepare the Windows XP Professional Simplified Chinese edition installation disc, and check whether the optical drive supports auto-start.
2. if possible, use the disk scan program to scan all hard disks to check hard disk errors and fix them before running the installer. Otherwise, it will be troublesome to check hard disk errors during the installation process.
3. Record the product key (installation serial number) of the Installation File with paper ).
4. if possible, use a driver backup tool (for example, driver genie 2004 V1.9 Beta.exe) to back up all drivers in the original Windows XP to the hard disk (for example, F: \ Drive ). It is best to write down the model and manufacturer of the main hardware such as the motherboard, Nic, and video card, and download the driver for backup in advance.
5. If you want to format disk C or disk D during installation (we recommend that you format disk C during installation), back up the useful data of disk C or disk D.

Ii. Start the system with a CD:

(If you already know the method, go to the next step), restart the system, set the optical drive as the first boot disk, save the settings, and restart. Place the XP installation CD into the optical drive and restart the computer. Press the Enter key when prompted, as shown in. Otherwise, the installation of the XP system CD cannot be started. After the disc is automatically started, you can see the installation interface if there is no accident, as shown in 1.

Use the "down or up" arrow key to select the partition used for system installation. If you have formatted drive C, select partition C. Press "Enter" and press Enter. 4 is displayed.

You can format the selected partition to convert the file system lattice or save the existing file system. There are multiple options, however, it should be noted that the NTFS format can save disk space, improve security and reduce disk fragments. However, there are many problems at the same time, partitions in the NTFS format cannot be seen in OS and 98/Me, select "format disk partition (FAST) by using the FAT file system, press" Enter "and press Enter, as shown in Figure 5.

Because the space of the selected partition C is greater than 2048 MB (2 GB), the FAT file system does not support disk partitions larger than MB, so the installer will format the C disk in the format of the FAT32 file system, press Enter, as shown in figure 7.

Figure 7 is formatting the C partition; the formatting partition option can be provided during installation only when you start the XP installer with a CD or install the boot floppy disk; if you start the boot into DOS with a MS-DOS boot disk, when you run i386 \ winnt to install XP, the partition formatting option is not available during XP installation. After the C partition is formatted, 8 is displayed.

Copy the file in figure 8. After the file is copied, the installer starts to initialize the Windows configuration. Then the system automatically restarts after 15 seconds. After the restart, the following error occurs:

Select the default value for the region and language settings. Click "Next", as shown in Figure 11.

Enter your desired name and organization. The name here is your username registered later. Click "Next", as shown in Figure 12.

If you haven't written down the product key (installation serial number) in advance, it's a big deal! Enter the installation serial number here, and click "Next", as shown in Figure 13.

The installer automatically creates a long and ugly computer name for you. You can change it at will. Enter the system Administrator password twice. Remember this password. The Administrator has the highest privilege in the system, you do not need this account to log on to the system. Click "Next", as shown in figure 14.

Do not talk about date and time settings. Select Beijing time and click "Next", as shown in Figure 15.

Start installation, copy system files, and install the network system, which will soon appear as 16

Let you select the method used for network installation. Select the typical setting and click "Next", as shown in figure 17.

Continue the installation. You will not be involved here, and the installation program will automatically complete the whole process. After the installation is complete, the system automatically restarts and the startup screen appears, as shown in Figure 19.

It takes a long time to start for the first time. Please wait. Next you are welcome to use the screen and prompt you to set the system, such as 20.

Click "Next" in the lower-right corner to display the set Internet connection screen, as shown in Figure 21.

The bandwidth dial-up connection established here does not create a dial-up connection shortcut on the desktop, and the default dial-up connection name is "My ISP" (unless customized ); after entering the desktop, you can create a broadband dial-up connection through the connection wizard. a dial-up connection shortcut is established on the desktop, and the default dial-up connection name is "Broadband connection" (unless customized ). If you do not want to establish a broadband dial-up connection here, click "Skip.
Here, I will first create a broadband connection, select the first "digital user line (ADSL) or cable modem", and click "Next", as shown in Figure 22.

Currently, China Telecom or China Unicom (ADSL) residential users have their accounts and passwords. Therefore, I select "yes, I use the user name and password to connect" and click "Next, see Figure 23.

Enter the account and password provided by China Telecom or China Unicom, and enter your favorite name in "your ISP service name" as the name of the dial-up connection shortcut menu, if you leave it blank, the system will automatically create "My ISP" as the connection name and click "Next", as shown in Figure 24.

I have already established a dial-up connection. Of course, Microsoft wants to activate XP now. However, even if it is not activated, there will be a 30-day trial period. Why bother? Select "No, please wait a few days to remind me" and click "Next", as shown in Figure 25.

Enter a user name that you usually use to log on to the computer. Click Next, as shown in Figure 26.

Click Finish to end the installation. The system will log out and log on again as a new user. 27 after login to the desktop

6. Retrieve common icons
On the desktop, click Start> connect> broadband connection, for example, 32
