In the last blog post we introduced several of the most essential records in a DNS server, including A records, NS records, and SOA records. In this blog post we will continue to introduce several other commonly used records of DNS, hoping to help you understand DNS.
Four MX records
MX records are also known as Mail Exchanger Records, and MX records are used to indicate which server is the mail server for the current zone, for example in the hexun.com zone, mail.hexun.com is the mail server, and the IP address is 202.99.16.125. Then we can do the following in the DNS server:
1. Create a record for mail server
As the following illustration shows, we first create a record for the mail server, when the IP address is not used when describing the mail server in the MX record, only the fully qualified domain name is used.
2. Create MX record
As shown in the following illustration, select the Create MX record in the DNS server.
