Detailed installation of Solaris 10 using VMware Workstation

The increasing popularity of virtualization technology is a truth. To learn about Linux and Unix systems, but not to reinstall the system on machines, you can use VMware software to build a system for study. The following figure shows how to install the Solaris 10 system graph.

1. After obtaining and installing the VMware Workstation software, click Create Virtual Machine

2. click Next.

3. The Wizard appears. Select a typical example and click Next.

4. Select the operating system type, Sun Solaris 10, and next.

5. Name the Virtual Machine and select the Save path. Next Step

6. Allocate system hard disk capacity. Next Step

7. Creation successful. Click Close

8. Select the CD-ROM to load the System Image File

9. Double-click the CD-Rom mounting window, select the ISO image file option, Click Browse, select the ISO image file of the Solaris system you downloaded, and click OK.

10. Click the start VM button.

11. Click Yes.

12. Restart the VM and enter the Solaris installation interface. Select default

13. Select the Solaris interface for default installation

14. Configure the keyboard page, select default, and press f2 to continue

15. Press enter to continue

16. The welcome installation page appears. click Next.

17. The Network option is default. Next Step

18. Enter the Host Name and click Next.

19. Select a domain. The default step is "Next ".

20. Select the time zone. The default step is "Next ".

21. Select a country region and click Next.

23. Enter the root password and click Next.

24. enable remote services. The default step is "Next ".

25. confirm the information and click OK.

28. Specify the installation media, select CD/DVD, and next

30. Install the Protocol. Click accept. Next Step

31. Select the installation type and install it by default. Next Step

32. Prepare to start installation. Click Start installation now.

35. On the system installation completion page, enter the user name root and click OK.

36. Enter the password entered during system installation and click OK to log on to the system.

37. Welcome to the logon page. Click OK.

38. log on to the system page.
