Install and set the partition server

Use an IP address and port ing for a partition server

To configure the partition server to share the same IP address and the same network interface card, you need to use port ing. Port ing is only used for communication tasks between notes and Domino. However, you can use the "server" document in the Domino Directory to configure IMAP, LDAP, nntp, POP3, and Domino Web servers so that they can communicate with different ports. To do this, make sure that the port number is available to the client when the client tries to connect to the server. For example, if you allocate port 12080 to the Domino Web Server, you must connect to the server using urlhttp: // acme.com: 12080.
It is best not to run all these Internet protocols on computers with only one network interface card (NIC. Because when a computer has only one network interface card, even a protocol is enough to generate an input/output bottleneck.

Configure an IP address and port ing

When port ing is set, the port ing server automatically routes the notes and Domino communication requests to other partition servers.
1. Select a partitioning server that executes the port ing task.
2. Select a unique TCP/IP Port number for each partition server on the computer. The port ing server uses port 1352. We recommend that you use the port numbers 13520 to 13524 for other partition servers.
3. In the notes. ini file of the port ing server, add a line for the port server and each other partition server. On the port ing server, enter:
