Anyone who has used a windows 2000 Terminal simulation client knows that a terminal server connected to win2000server through mstsc can work like a windows server host, use a graphical interface to operate and control computers. Linux uses XDMCP to provide such support. We only need to use a terminal simulation software (such as xmanager) with simple configuration in the linux service, you can easily implement the same features as win2000 graphic terminal simulation. That feeling is really "cool!

The following uses red hat linux 7.2 as an example to describe the configuration and connection process:

1. preparations:

When installing red hat linux 7.2, You must select xwindow. This is the basic concept. If you do not install it, the graphic interface. Haha! Install the terminal simulation software xmanager on your own machine (client). The installation method is omitted.

There is no difference in software in windows.

2. Start Configuration:

Before starting configuration, we will explain several basic concepts and related Command Information:

(1) XDMCP is (X Display Manager Control Protocol), and X displays the Monitoring Protocol;

(2) xdm is (manages a collection of X displays), showing the management set.

The path is in the/etc/X11/xdm file:

Xaccess access control file;

Xservices local display or remote display of configuration files;

The main configuration file of xdm-config xdm.

(3) What we need to do is make a change in the Xservices file. The original content is basically in the following form:

: 0 local/usr/X11R6/bin/X
