for Windows 7, System Restore includes restoration of system settings and restoration of text versions, which we typically call system environments and shadow copies. Typically, Windows 7 only has system protection enabled on the system partition and includes both System Restore and file version restore. However, the System Restore and file version restore can be separated in Windows 7. It is common practice to turn on System Restore and file version recovery at the same time in the system partition, and only the file version restore on other partitions. This can not only improve system performance, but also save disk space. This is done by selecting the partition on the System Protection tab that needs to be set up, and then clicking on the Configuration button to enter the configuration page. You can see that there are three options under the Restore setting: Selecting the first restore system settings and previous versions of the files will open the partition's System Restore and shadow copies; Select the second item to restore only the previous version of the file only the shadow copy feature of the partition is turned on; Selecting the third key to turn off system protection will turn off both features in the partition.

(2). Manually create a restore point

After a system restore of a partition is turned on, its system partition establishes a restore point for the system at intervals (by default, once a day), or when the system installs the application software and drivers. For other non-system partitions, only the shadow copy feature is turned on, and a shadow copy of the file is created when the file in that partition is modified. Note that when you set up protection for a partition, you first need to create a restore point for that partition, so that System Restore is available for System Restore or file recovery. The way to create a restore point is very simple, click the Create button on the System Protection tab to eject the Create Restore Point Wizard, and follow the wizard to complete the restore point creation.

In addition, running Startup Repair initiates system repair and runs system image recovery to recover from a backed up system image. What needs to be explained is that Vista also enables System Restore offline, but it needs to use the Vista system Setup disk to boot the system into the System Recovery options console. The installation disk is not required in Windows 7 because Windows 7 has integrated it into the system.

If you want to save it locally, it is best to save it in a partition on another hard disk in your local area. For backup content, Windows 7 saves data in all users ' libraries, desktops, and Windows folders by default, and also creates a system image. Of course, some backup items are not what we need, so we can customize what we want to back up in Figure 5. Here we can check what we want to keep (such as the library, the user-related content in the system disk and the application information, etc.), and remove the hook in front of the system image including drive system Reserved, (C:) If you do not need to save the system image.

need to pay special attention to: After customizing the complete task, the system will perform the backup plan in every Sunday 19:00 by default, which is very easy to be overlooked by some administrators. Once someone set up a backup task and did not modify the default backup plan, since the system was backed up, in fact, the system is not even a backup of the implementation, because his PC in Sunday 19:00 o ' run. In this respect, we can modify according to our own needs, and generally set the backup to a relatively idle time period of the workday. In addition, we can set the frequency of system backup, for system security requirements are relatively high can be set to perform a daily backup.
