Microsoft announced at the build 2016 developer conference that it has partnered with Canonical, and Windows 10 will have native support for bash under Linux and the other tens of thousands of binaries.

It is reported that Ubuntu Linux binaries can be run directly on Windows, Bash shell also landed on Windows. This means that developers who are familiar with Linux and OS X systems will no longer have to rely on virtual machines, cross-platform compilation tools, or other cumbersome steps, and can directly raise a command window like Linux on Windows and use Linux instructions.

In addition, Microsoft has announced the rapid conversion of traditional desktop applications to Windows UWP tools, developers can quickly transform their own legacy EXE applications, landing on the UWP platform.
