Development tools for Google Desktop Search (GDS) plug-ins

Google Desktop Search has been running well on my machine, but unfortunately it does not support many file formats. Fortunately, it provides plug-ins to solve this problem.

Currently, there are not many plug-ins that can be downloaded at http://shorttop.google.com/plugins.html. Larry's help file IndexerAnd Larry's any text file Indexer(Open Source ). In this way, all my e-books can be searched, which is very convenient.

It is easy to develop your own plug-ins. You can download sdkfrom http://shorttop.google.com/developer.html. After a rough look, the plug-in communicates with GDS through COM and uses XML to exchange data. Therefore, any plug-in that supports COM and XML can be used for development. The examples provided in the gds sdk are based on VC ++ and C. This week, I am too busy to study it.
