DHCP Server installation and configuration (1)

In the previous article, we have explained some basic DHCP content. Next we will explain how to install and configure the DHCP server.

1. to install the DHCP server, follow these steps:

Step 1 start the "Add/delete programs" dialog box

Step 3. Click "details" and select "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol DHCP" from the list. 3. Click "OK"

Step 4. Click "Next" and enter the path of the source installation file to Windows2000 Server. Click "OK" to start installing the DHCP service.

Step 5 Click "finish". When you return to the "Add/delete programs" dialog box, click "close ".

After installation, a "DHCP" Manager is added to the management tool.

2. Add a DHCP server

After installing the DHCP service, you must first add an authorized DHCP server and add a scope to the server to set the corresponding IP address range and option type, so that the DHCP client can obtain the IP address lease and related options when logging on to the network.

To add a DHCP server, follow these steps:

Step 1 start the DHCP console, 4

Step 2 select "Add Server" in the "operations" menu, start the Add Server wizard, and click "Next". The "specify DHCP server" dialog box appears, as shown in, click "Browse" and the "authorized server in directory" dialog box appears. Here, you can add authorization to the DHCP server. Click "add". Form 5 is displayed, enter the name or IP address of the server to which the DHCP service is to be created.

Step 3 select the server added in the previous step in the "authorized server in the directory" dialog box, and click "manage" → next → complete

The added server is displayed on the "DHCP" console.

3. Add a scope to the DHCP server

Step 1. On the DHCP console, click the server to which the scope is to be added → operate → create → scope → the "Create scope wizard" appears"

Step 2 click "Next" and then "Enter domain name" dialog box here, enter the domain name of this domain

Step 3 click "Next" and enter the subnet mask for the allocated address service 7
