1. First, go to the first step to open VMware (if it is not the Administrator identity during installation, you need to run it as an administrator; otherwise, you cannot create a new virtual machine ), click "file" on the menu bar and select "new Virtual Machine". The following page is displayed:

Select "Custom" configuration type and click "Next"

In hardware compatibility, Select Workstation 8.0. Of course, if your vmware version is 7.x or another version, you need to select the corresponding compatibility virtual machine.

Because the virtual hard disk does not exist, select "Install the operating system later" and proceed to the next step.

Select the system to be installed. Generally, we use Windows systems, including Windows 7 and earlier Windows versions. (Windows 8 installation is not affected, you can configure Win8 according to the default settings provided by win7). If you want to learn about it, you can install other operating systems. In this example, select XP and click "Next"

The Virtual Machine name is default. It is best to place it in a non-system disk with a large hard disk control.

Choose your own machine sub-configuration, which is usually the default. If your machine sub-core is quad-core, you can choose dual-core processor to go to the next step.

Configure the virtual memory and select the memory by moving the cursor. The default memory size is 512 MB.

Select the network type. For ease of use, select the second type or do not access the internet. Select the last type and click Next.

For the first use, select "Create a new Virtual Disk" and click Next.

Select an IDE disk and click Next.

After the hardware configuration is complete, click "finish" to complete the basic settings. Next, enter the system installation part.

2. During installation, the shortcut key should be kept in mind: CTRL + ALT, which can easily switch between the host and Virtual Machine mouse.

Click Edit virtual machine settings to go to the hardware configuration page.

Select the CD/DVD on the left, select the second type in "connection" on the right, load the XP system, click "OK", return to the interface, and select "power on this virtual machine"

After the system is loaded and the virtual machine is powered on, go to the installation interface, which is similar to the bios and operated on the keyboard. Press "C" as prompted.

Go to the above interface and adjust the partition size of the primary disk. After completing the operation, press ENTER

Create a logical partition for the "unpartitioned control", perform the same operations as the primary partition disk, and press enter to divide the disk into multiple partitions as per your preferences.

After partitioning, select partition 1 and press enter to go to the next step.

Select the first mode to quickly format the disk partition and proceed to the next step. If the loaded system is the installation version, you can enter winpe, use the built-in disk genius or PM partition tool to format the partition and hard disk, and then install the system.

In fact, virtual systems can basically run naked without installing anti-virus software or security guard. Generally, even if the virtual system is infected with viruses, it will not affect the physical machine. If you are not at ease, you can use Microsoft's compact and convenient anti-virus software Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE.

Here is only the step to install the XP system. If Windows 7 is simpler and more humane than this one, it is no different from the physical machine installation. Compared with the installation of the physical machine system, the installation of the virtual system does not involve drivers, saving a lot of time.

After the system is installed, you also need to install VM tools (to achieve file replication between the virtual system and the physical system, as well as full screen virtual system, etc) and shared folders (the virtual system can directly access the data and materials of the physical machine ).
