1. Press "Win+r" key combination, enter "regedit" to open Registry Editor, delete the following key value.

Under Windows XP system:

Hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/explorer/traynotify

On the right you can see two key values: IconStreams and PastIconsStream, and delete their values.

Windows 7 System, Windows 8 System, Windows 8.1 system:

Hkey_classes_root/local settings/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/traynotify

2. Restart the "Explorer.exe" process.

Under Windows XP, Windows 7 systems:

Call the Task Manager to terminate the process "Explorer.exe", and then click "File---New task" in Task Manager, and enter "explorer" to restart the system process.
