The primary router and the secondary router use wireless WDS bridging. The wireless terminal can connect the secondary router to access the internet. During the process of moving, the primary and secondary routers can automatically switch between the routers to achieve roaming. The application topology is as follows:

Note:: In actual application, the primary router may be of another model, and this application can also be implemented.

 

1, OKSSIDAnd fixed Channel

Log on to the management interface of the primary router, and click Wireless Settings 2.4 GHz> Basic settings, Confirm on this page SSIDNo. (Wireless Signal name), fixedChannel, ClickSave. The system prompts "you have changed the wireless settings,RestartClickRestartWait until the vro is restarted.

 

2Confirm the wireless password

Click Wireless Settings 2.4 GHz> Wireless security settingsConfirm the wireless encryption method and password.

 

1DisableDHCPServer

Log on to the management interface of the secondary router and click DHCPServer> DHCPService, Select the DHCP serverDisable, ClickSave. You do not need to restart the router. Continue with the next step.

 

2Modify wireless parameters and enableWDSScanning signal

Click Wireless Settings 2.4 GHz> Basic wireless settings, Modify SSID No.  Same as the primary router, fixed Channel, Select Enable WDS, Click Scan.

 

3Select the main router signal

Find the SSID of the primary router on the scan page, and clickConnection.

Note:: If WDS cannot scan the signal of the primary router, make sure that the primary router enables the wireless function and try to reduce the distance between the primary and secondary routers.

 

4Select the encryption method and enter the wireless password

Select the same key type as the master router Encryption method, In Key  Enter the wireless password of the master router, and then click Save. You do not need to restart the router. Continue with the next step.

 

5Set the wireless password of the secondary router

Click Wireless Settings > Wireless security settings, Select WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, inPSKPassword Set the same wireless password as the primary router, clickSave. You do not need to restart the router. Continue with the next step.

Note:The SSID and wireless password of the secondary router can be different from that of the primary router. If you want to implement roaming, it must be the same as that of the primary router.

 

6, Modification managementIPAddress

Click Network Parameters > LAN Port settings, Modify the IP address in the same CIDR block as the primary router, and click Save, Click OKWait until the restart is completed.

Note:: Use the modified IP address to log on to the vro management page after restarting.

 

Open the browser and log on to the management interface through the management IP address modified by the secondary router. Click Running status, Observe Wireless status 2.4 GHz> WDS Status, Display SuccessfulIndicates that the WDS Bridge is successfully set.
