Difference between ftp_binary and ftp_ascii during FTP transmission

Ftp_ascii will process the file, because different systems (Win, * UNIX) have different standards for carriage return and line feed. In this mode, the carriage return and line feed in the file will be automatically converted.

 

Ftp_binary does not perform any processing. It is uploaded as is.

 

Today, I used PHP to connect to FTP. I didn't pay attention to these differences at ordinary times. When I selected the parameter, I randomly selected an ftp_ascii, And the upload result failed. I found it for a long time and couldn't find the cause.

Later, I suddenly found that the meaning of this parameter was not clear.
