Difference between upgrade and update: upgradeupdate

I haven't figured out the meaning of these two words before, especially during linux software management, I haven't figured it out with update and upgrade, and finally found out:

Upgrade generally refers to an important upgrade, or a major upgrade, of which the software has changed a lot, for example, from windows XP to windows 7;

Update generally refers to minor upgrades or updates. software changes are relatively small or only some bugs are fixed, for example, update from windows 7 to windows 7 sp1.

Upgrade generally refers to changes in quality, while update generally refers to changes in quantity.
