Difference between USB and its identification

What is the difference between USB1.1 and USB2.0 interfaces? How do I identify the USB Type on my computer?

The full name of USB is universal serial bus. USB supports hot swapping and plug-and-play advantages, so USB interface has become the most important interface method of MP3. USB has two specifications: USB 1.1 and USB 2.0.

USB 1.1 is a common USB specification. Its high-speed transmission rate is 12 Mbps, and the low-speed transmission rate is 1.5 Mbps (B means bit ), 1 Mb/s (MB/second) = 8 Mbps (mbps), 12 Mbps = 1.5 Mb/s.

The USB 2.0 specification evolved from the USB 1.1 specification. Its transmission rate reaches 480 Mbps and is converted to 60 Mb/s, which is sufficient to meet the speed requirements of most peripherals. The enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) in USB 2.0 defines an architecture compatible with USB 1.1. It can use a USB 2.0 driver to drive a USB 1.1 device. That is to say, all devices supporting USB 1.1 can be used directly on the USB 2.0 interface without worrying about compatibility issues, and accessories such as USB cables and plugs can also be used directly.

The USB 2.0 standard further increases the interface speed to 480 Mbps, significantly reducing the transmission time of MP3 music files.

Depends on the USB interface of your computer. 1.1 is an old-fashioned USB interface with a low transmission speed. 2.0 has an absolute advantage in speed but is more expensive than the USB flash drive with 1.1 interfaces.

Two possibilities are listed below
1) the computer is a 1.1 interface, and the USB flash drive, whether 2.0 or 1.1, has the same transmission speed.
2) the computer is 2.0 interface, the USB flash disk is 1.1, and the transmission speed is the same as that in the first case.
3) the computer is 2.0 interface, and the USB flash disk is 2.0. At this time, the transmission speed advantage fully shows how to verify whether my computer has a USB port.
You can easily identify whether your computer has a high-speed USB port. Open Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus section. You will see the enhanced USB master controller option.
The name may be different in Windows 98, because the "high-speed USB" Driver in these systems is not directly provided by Microsoft (the driver will be provided in Windows ME, 2000 and XP product upgrades ).
These drivers are provided by the vendor and may contain vendor names (such as ads, Belkin, iogear, and siig ). Currently, two versions of the standard USB port controller are available on the market. Integrating the controller into a USB chip allows the USB chip to transmit data freely at different transmission rates.
The following are the six major manufacturers of High-speed USB controller silicon wafers:
Ali (Acer)
Intel
NEC
Sis
Via
NVIDIA (nominal "standard" Controller-see the preceding description)

Any other brand name that appears in the Device Manager may be a high-speed usb pci additional card. The above manufacturers do not produce additional cards, but only produce chips for additional cards.

Check the Device Manager to see if there is a USB 2.0 root hub or an unknown USB device. It may support USB 2.0. If the motherboard does not support USB, it cannot be upgraded.

My computer-> right-click Properties-> hardware, Device Manager-> general serial bus controller to see if there is usb2 enhanced.

We can see all the interfaces of USB 2.0. In fact, USB 2.0 is divided into two versions. The first version is USB fast speed, which is the fast USB interface, in fact, it is the USB 1.1 interface we used to access, but now it is defined as this name. another type is USB 2.0 high speed, that is, high-speed USB 2.0 interface, that is, the conventional USB 2.0 interface we previously defined. It is actually very easy to distinguish between them, simply look at the USB above the logo to easily recognize them.
Go to the Device Manager and check out "Universal Serial Bus Controller". If there is USB 2.0 enhanced or USB high speed, there is USB, and vice versa. In fact, we can also see in the BIOS that this information is also available during self-check. The simpler method is that if all the "cotrollor" items in "Universal Serial Bus Controller" are the same, this computer does not support USB

Is the hardware of USB and USB interchangeable?
USB is compatible with USB and USB is "compatible with USB. When the USB interface is installed on the host, you can see the "enhanced (enhanced)" USB controller in the Device Manager, and the other two USB controllers, these two controllers make the USB device backward compatible. Each USB2.0 controller has three chips. The USB controller sends signals to the correct control chip based on the device identification method. The position of the USB device is not related to the conversion method. When both the host and the device are normal, the USB device can be used on any usb port on the motherboard.
