The Java2 Platform consists of three versions: Standard Edition J2SE, Enterprise Edition J2EE, and miniature edition j2s. These three versions complement each other and have different application scopes. Here we will share with you the differences between J2SE and J2SE, I hope it will be helpful for your learning.

Differences between J2SE and J2SE

Most programming languages have pre-compiled class libraries to support a variety of specific functions. In Java, class libraries are provided in the form of package. Different Versions of Java provide different packages, to target specific applications.

The Java2 Platform consists of three versions: Standard Edition J2SE, Enterprise Edition J2EE, and mini edition j2s. These three versions complement each other and have different application scopes.

J2SE is the standard version of Java2 and is mainly used for programming desktop applications;

Mainly used for embedded system development, such as mobile phone and PDA programming;

J2EE is the Enterprise Edition of Java2. It is mainly used for the development of distributed network programs, such as e-commerce websites and ERPEnterpriseResourcePlanning systems. See this article for details.

◆ StandardEdition (Standard Edition) J2SE Contains classes that constitute the core of the Java language.

For example, database connection, interface definition, input/output, and network programming

◆ EnterpriseEdition (Enterprise Edition) J2EE includes classes in J2SE and also the classes used to develop enterprise-level applications.

For example: EJB, servlet, JSP, XML, transaction control

◆ MicroEdition (micro-scale version) J2SE contains one category for software development of consumer electronic products.

For example, pager, smart card, mobile phone, PDA, and set-top box

◆ Their scope is: J2SE is included in J2EE, and J2SE contains J2SE core classes, but some new proprietary classes are added.

In application scenarios, the API coverage varies. In general, we can understand it as follows:

J2SE is the Foundation;

One point of compression, and some other CLDC features are added;

One more step is to add some enterprise applications such as EJB, Which is J2EE.

To add one point, J2EE is more appropriate. It should be the technical specification developed by JAVA2, not just a few more classes than the Standard Edition.
