Differences between the Huawei switch port modes (access, trunk, hybrid)

Access Port:

• General Connection Host

• only allowed with the port's PVID the same VLAN passed, received untagged data frame, forcing the port to be hit on the PVID the label;

Trunk Port:

• Typically used for connections between switches

• passing between switches Tagged frame . Allow multiple VLANs to Pass, can be different from PVID

• received without Tagged frame data frame, hit the PVID and forward

• received with Tagged frame data frame, check VLAN ID , if allowed and VLAN ID with the PVID Same, remove tagged direct forwarding, if permitted and VLAN ID with the PVID , the original data frame is forwarded directly.

Hybrid Port:

• the default port mode for Huawei switches. Can be used as an access port to connect to a host or as a trunk

• The forwarding mode of this port is the same as Trunk ports, allowing multiple VLAN passed, received without tagged frme , Hit Pvid Label and forward

• received with tagged frame vlan ID and pvid same, except for label forwarding, such as allow and vlan ID and pvid

• hybrid allow multiple vlan message not tagged, but trunk Span style= "font-family: ' The song Body '; > Port is allowed only with itself pvid same as vlan The message is not labeled when it is sent;

• when Hybrid Port is not tagged VLAN , untagged VLAN only one time, function with Access The same as the port; Hybrid Port is not untagged VLAN when the function and Trunk The same port.
