Differences between Trim (), Ltrim (), and AllTrim () Functions

Syntax: Trim (character expression)
Return Value Type: accept type
Parameter description: Character Expression
Objective: To delete spaces behind a string.

Syntax: Ltrim (character expression)
Return Value Type: accept type
Parameter description: Character Expression
Objective: To delete spaces before a string

Syntax: AllTrim (character expression)
Return Value Type: accept type
Parameter description: Character Expression
Objective: To delete a string with leading and trailing Spaces

Note: Ltrim () is special.
When we convert a numeric value to a character, it is implicitly converted by 8 digits. If it is not 8 characters long, it will be filled with spaces.
For example: Ltrim (str (5) returns 5
