Disable IP address modification tools and principles

Although this problem is depressing, it is not very difficult to solve. I have encountered the same problem before and then solved it with software.

It is prohibited to modify the IP address principle and download the tool (Windows 2000/XP/2003 server platform)

Method 1: Modify the Registry

The registry plays a key role in the Windows operating system. The "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Attribute" dialog box can be blocked by using the registry key value.

1. click Start> Run. In the open drop-down text box of the run dialog box, enter the command Regedit (only text in double quotation marks), and click OK.

2. In the registry editor window, expand

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Network Connections branch;

3. right-click the blank area in the subwindow on the right, and select the "New> DWORD Value" menu (or click "Edit> New> DWORD Value" in the menu bar) to create a New DWORD key value.

4. Name the New DWORD key value "nc_lanchangeproperties" and assign it to "0 ",

5. Name the New DWORD key value "nc_enableadminprohibits" and assign it to "1" to close the "Registry Editor" window.

Method 2: Stop Service

The service is a new feature in the Windows 2000/XP/2003 operating system. It is directly associated with the "Local Connection Properties" dialog box and is "Network Connections ". Therefore, as long as the service is stopped, the "Local Connection Properties" dialog box cannot be opened, and the IP address cannot be modified.

1. Click the "Start> Run" menu, enter the command "services. msc" in the "open" drop-down text box (only text in double quotation marks), and click "OK. Alternatively, click Start> control panel, double-click the Management Tools icon in the control panel window, and then double-click the Service icon.

2. in the subwindow on the right of the service window, double-click the service named "Network Connections" and click "stop" at "service status" to stop the service, set the value of "Startup Type" to "disabled", and click "OK.

After that, although the "local connection" icon can still be seen in the "Network Connection" window, after right-clicking "properties" in the shortcut menu, an "Unexpected error" will be displayed ", the "Local Connection Properties" dialog box cannot be opened, so the IP address cannot be modified.

Note:

This method has two drawbacks:

1. After you click "View> refresh", the error message dialog box is displayed. Users with a little "understanding" can easily crack the information as prompted.

2. because the "Network Connections" service is related to network connections, after the service is disabled, all network access operations will be affected, the "Windows Firewall" function and "Internet Connection Sharing" function of this service will also stop working.

Therefore, do not use this method unless the computer is not connected to any network.

Method 3: deregister the dynamic link library file

In Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server, three dynamic link library files (netw.x. dll, netshell. dll, and netman. dll) are related to network functions. Once you unregister these three files, the "Network Connection" window will be blocked and the IP address cannot be modified in the "Local Connection Properties" dialog box.
1. Click the "Start> Run" menu, enter the "regsvr32 netmask X. dll/u" command in the "open" drop-down text box, and click "OK ". If the execution is successful, a prompt is displayed.

Note: Use spaces to separate regsvr32 from netw.x. dll and netw.x. dll from/U.

2. Replace netw.x. dll with netshell. dll and netman. DLL for repeated execution.

In the future, whether you choose "Network Neighbor", right-click "properties" in the menu, or double-click the "Network Connection" icon in the "control panel" window (the interface label has also changed ), you cannot open the "Network Connection" window, so you cannot modify the IP address in the "Local Connection Properties" dialog box.

If you want to restore the IP address modification function, you just need to delete the "/u" parameter in the preceding command and re-execute it again.

Method 4: Modify Group Policy

In the Windows 2000/XP/2003 server operating system, the "System Policy Manager" tool is the default installation component. You only need to run the command "gpedit. MSC to open the tool, but the name is changed to "group policy" (Windows 2000/XP system) or "Group Policy Editor" (Windows 2003 Server System ).

1. Click Start> Run. In the open drop-down box, enter the command gpedit. MSC (only text in double quotation marks), and click OK.

2. In the "Group Policy" or "Group Policy Editor" window, expand the "Local Computer Policy> User Configuration> management template> network connection" project in the left-side subwindow.

3. double-click the "prohibit access to properties of LAN connection components" option in the subwindow on the right, and then click the "enable" radio button in the "Disable access to LAN connection component properties" dialog box, click OK.

4. Close the "Group Policy" or "Group Policy Editor" window.

When a common user opens the "Local Connection Properties" dialog box and selects the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" item in the "use the following items for this connection" list box, you will find that the "properties" button under it has become gray. You cannot open the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties" dialog box and cannot change the IP address.

However, this method may not work for users logging on to the system as administrators. In this case, you must enable the "enable network connection settings for Administrators" option to disable the "attribute" button.
