Disable TCP tuning to troubleshoot Vista browsing Web _vista

Problem

Try to open some Web sites in IE browser on a Windows Vista-based computer. However, you may experience an Internet connection that slows down and you may receive the following error message:

The page cannot be displayed.

Solution

To resolve this issue, disable the TCP automatic tuning feature. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Log on to the computer as a user with administrative privileges.

2. Click Start, attachment, locate the command prompt, right-click, and run as Administrator

3. At the command prompt, type the following command, Netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable, and then press ENTER.

4. After you successfully run the command, type exit at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

5. Restart the computer.

6. After you log on to your computer, try to access a Web site.
