3.3.4 Instance 4 uses views and viewport (Viewport) to view graphics
Step 1 Open the graphics file "city base MAP.DWG"
(1) This example uses the sample file "city base map.dwg" provided by AutoCAD 2002, which is also stored in the "sample" subfolder of the AutoCAD home folder. Run the AutoCAD 2002 system and open the file as shown in Figure 3-31.
Step 2 Use the "View" command for view operations
(1) Use the "Zoom" and "Pan" commands to view and enlarge the drawing to show the "University of Minnesota (University of Minnesota)" on both sides of "Mississippi River (Mississippi R.)" (Figure 3-31, where the cursor is located), As shown in Figure 3-32.
(2) Menu "view (view) →" Named views ... (named view), pops up the View dialog box as shown in Figure 3-33.
(3) Select the Named views (named View) tab in the View dialog box, click the button to create a new view, and pop-up the "New View" dialog box, as shown in Figure 3-34. In the View name edit box, specify the view name, called University, and leave the other options unchanged, and click the button to return to the View dialog box.
