Usually accustomed to see the computer that a dull face friend, must be very eager to diy their own love machine. By modifying the registry, we can change many of the system's default icons, but find it difficult to change the icon for the drive (Windows 2000 + system), even if the use of some third-party software (such as Super Rabbit) modified, can only be the same as all the partitions of the icon to the same icon. Have you ever thought about setting up a different icon for each partition and having an "autoplay" feature like an optical drive? With the modifications described below, we can make our computers cooler (this is the case with Windows 2000, which is suitable for all Windows 2000 systems). 1th Step: Open Registry Editor, expand in sequence [hkey_users\s-1-5-21-790525478-1060284298-854245398-500\software\microsoft\windows\ Currentversion\explorer\mountpoints] Branch (note that the "s-1-5-21-790525478-1060284298-854245398-500" here is the SID of the system and that the SIDs for each system are different , to be opened according to your own SID. If the system hangs on a dual hard drive, the "mountpoints" key value in the registry may change to "MountPoints2". As you can see, the mountpoints of A, B, C, D, etc. represent the local drives. The 2nd step: Select the required files, change the past boring interface. Because Autorun can only be a program, can not be a Web page, so you can program a friend to simply write a program to open the specified Web page; a friend who doesn't program can use some of the existing programs: casually find a CD that can be played automatically and browsed as a Web page. When you put the CD in the CD-ROM, the registry reads the contents of the Autorun.inf file on the disc. When you open "Shell\autorun\command" under item F (for the optical drive), you can see that the key value "default" for the string value in the right window is "F:\Shelexec.exe index.htm" (You can refresh the registry if you do not see it). Indicates that the Index.htm Web page is opened by the "Shelexec.exe" program after the disc is automatically run. Step 3rd: Copy the Shelexec.exe file from the CD-ROM to the E partition, and then go back to Registry Editor, create a new subkey "DefaultIcon" under E, and change its default to the path of the icon you want. This way, the default icon for the E partition is modified. Step 4th: Similarly, create a new subkey "Shell" under E, change the "Shell" default value to "AutoRun". Shell represents an action command for the E partition, and its default is the command that runs after double-clicking. Then under Shell, create a new "AutoRun" subkey, and change its default value to AutoPlay. Then create a new Command subkey under "AutoRun", and change the default value to "E:\Shelexec.exe E:\Heelen's website\index.htm" in the format mentioned in step 2nd. 5th step: After refreshing the registry, the changes will take effect. Then double-click the E partition and replace it with your own web page. Tip: If we have a partition that is dedicated to storing music, you can also create a symbolic icon for it, such as selecting AutoPlay as a CD, and having the specified player play the music in the partition. The modified method is roughly the same as the above, except that the default value of the Command subkey is changed directly to the path of the player. The Windows 2000 and Windows XP CD icons are stored in "%systemroot%\system32\shell32.dll40," as shown in the figure. 6th step: The changes made above will be automatically restored by the system after "refreshing" in the "My Computer" window or restarting the computer. Therefore, you should select the modified registry key in Registry Editor, select the registry → Export Registry File command, and select Selected branch in the export scope to save the data that we have modified. Step 7th: Create a new batch file on your desktop, edit it with Notepad, and enter "regedit.exe/s E:\RegEdit.reg" (E:\RegEdit.reg is the path to the exported registry file;/S is the parameter that does not appear when you import the registry file). After saving, keep the file in the start Group on the Start menu and start automatically when it is turned on.
As shown in Figure 1, we have successfully changed the personalized icons for local disks and have them play automatically.
