Do not miss these ten GNOME Shell extensions
GuideWhen GNOME Shell (namely GNOME 3) first entered the Linux world, many critics pointed out that it lacks flexibility. GNOME, which has made some breakthroughs in appearance, does have some impact on production efficiency. However, it has been quietly handling the question in many ways for many years.

Expansion is an important part. With the GNOME Shell extension, you can adjust GNOME as needed at any time. Where should we start? Don't worry. The ten GNOME Shell extensions we 've introduced today are believed to fully meet your needs for efficiency, productivity, and fun.

1. Dash To Dock

If you think that Dash on GNOME 3 will limit production efficiency, converting it into a panel or dock form will obviously solve the problem well. You only need To install Dash To Dock. All your Dash preference settings will be displayed as a dock for access (see figure 1 ). Dash To Dock can be displayed on the left, right, or bottom of the screen, or even automatically hidden. To set it, right-click the Nine-square grid icon (that is, the application button is displayed.

2. Clipboard Indicator

If you need to use the clipboard frequently, you must not miss this extension.

After installation, the Clipboard Indicator will appear on the top panel to provide all historical records that have been copied to the Clipboard. You only need to click this identifier and select the text to be used (2). Then, use Ctrl + V to copy the historical text.

3. Drop Down Terminal

If you still need to use the terminal, you can use the corresponding extension in GNOME Shell to implement this function. Drop Down Terminal provides a set of terminals that can be quickly switched, and can be directly displayed from the top of the screen (see figure 3) or below. This convenient terminal user experience can definitely bring productivity up to a level.

4. Coverflow Alt-Tab

Although this extension does not have much effectiveness, it can scroll the current window in a more efficient way. If you press Alt + Tab, the extension will open the container in the coverflow style (see figure 4 ).

5. Recent Items

If you need to frequently access files that have recently been opened, Recent Items is a favorite extension. This extension adds a shortcut in The GNOME panel. You can click to view recently used files (see figure 5 ). Click the corresponding entry to open it again.

6. Places Status Indicator

If you want to use the drop-down menu to quickly return to common locations on the drive (see Figure 6), Places Status Indicator must not be missed. This extension allows you to quickly access Home, images, videos, documents, downloads, music, computers, and any other cloud disks and network locations.

7. Easy Screen Cast

If you need to easily extract video/audio on GNOME desktop, you must try this extension. You only need to install Easy Screen Cast to solve the problem. You can even change the video file format to MP4, WebM, Mkv, or Ogg. With Easy Screen Cast, you only need to click the camera icon and click Start Recording (see figure 7. Click the icon again and select Stop Recording.

8. Dynamic Top Bar

As a Elementray OS user, it makes me feel at home to get the top bar transparency in GNOME 3. This is another extension that focuses on aesthetic adjustment, but I believe most users want the top of the screen to be fresh as I do.

Using the Dynamic Top Bar, the Top Bar is displayed transparently when the maximum window does not exist (see figure 8 ). After the window is maximized, the top bar will appear again for our use.

9. Top Panel Workspace Scroll

Since I started using Linux, I found that the best feature of this desktop is to provide efficient work areas. In the past, we were able to quickly switch between different work zones, but today's new versions have abandoned this important feature. Fortunately, the Top Panel Workspace Scroll function can help us regain this function and switch the work zone through the mouse wheel or touch plate dual-finger operation.

10. Wikipedia Search Provider

If you frequently query Wikipedia as I do, try this extension. After installation, click Activities and enter the name of the entry you want to query. For example, to query the related content of Linux, click this button and enter
