First, Introduction

The Document Object model, or DOM, is the standard programming interface recommended by the Organization for the processing of extensible flag languages. DOM Programming: DOM is the standard for how to get, modify, add, or delete HTML elements. Through the HTML DOM, all nodes in the tree can be accessed through JavaScript. All HTML elements (nodes) can be modified, or nodes can be created or deleted

When the page is loaded, the browser creates the Document Object model for the page:
