At the beginning of July, I received a mail from a friend who asked me to help evaluate the deepin system. At first, I felt very confused because the evaluation of a system requires a lot of preparation and specific environments and tools, in the past, the evaluation was based entirely on my personal feelings. However, after the appointment of Luo and Wang, I think many evaluators have deep insights. Although I am not a professional evaluators, however, I have helped many friends test a lot of software and IT products, but now I have to look at the evaluation from the perspective of a bottom-layer user, so today we will provide you with a simple deepin operation evaluation.

The evaluation will be divided into three parts: 1. Initial User Experience

2. Software and basic operation experience

3. Comprehensive Evaluation

Before the evaluation, I believe that many deepin users may be a little unfamiliar, but when we mention depth, I believe that you will not be so unfamiliar. First, you need to download the deepin system from the official website. I chose a 64-bit deepin.

Processor: Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor

Memory: at least 2 GB of memory (RAM), more than 4 GB is recommended for optimal performance

Hard Disk: at least 8 GB hard disk space

From the entire installation interface, there are still the icons that are currently viewed, and they do not feel very beautiful, and the definition of the icons needs to be improved, especially the details. However, many icons can tell at a glance how they are used, the texture and face-to-face of the entire icon make it feel that there is not much mac as a whole, but it is believed that the technical staff have paid a lot of information, but there is room for improvement. This is because it is not 2000 or XP a decade ago.

The installation time is not long. It takes about 20 minutes. Of course, there are many relationships between the virtual and non-SSD hard disks used here. I believe that if you use a real machine or SSD, express delivery will be faster, of course, system security is not an important issue. Remember that it would take at least one hour to install an XP system more than a decade ago.

Basically, all the settings can be selected. The only drawback is that the last two icons in the system setting options are somewhat similar. One is that the system information is shut down. It is estimated that the icons are not properly selected, you can only remember the order. The bottom is shutdown.

The provided preferences are (from left to right) starters, deep stores (that is, the option Center), deep games, cinemas, music, browsers, files, control centers, and network settings, sound settings, xxxx, time, and recycle bin. All the preference icon styles are not very nice. The only difference I can see is music, Google browser and time. Others do not know what to do, icon aesthetics is lacking, but it is very good compared with other domestic Linux systems.

These basic preferences can basically meet the needs of ordinary users, but the child item bounce after clicking the first choice is not very fast, but acceptable, and does not feel like a Mac.

It takes about 2-3 seconds to select a Google browser. However, the VM issue is not ruled out. After Google opens the browser, it can be seen that the Google browser has been started in depth, improvement, but I like it.

You can browse and access the Youku site without obvious freezing. It is worth mentioning that the browser must be improved in depth, unlike other Linux systems, flash plug-ins and Other plug-ins are required for browser video playback. This is a favorite of users.

From the perspective of a common user, deepin is also a simple installation and small test. However, it seems that deepin is still very good. Although the picture is not clear, the overall thinking is still very hard, especially after the boot, the help prompt basically meets the needs of ordinary users. However, it should be noted that more improvements should be made to the help prompt so as to meet the user's first or even later experience.

In general, the domestic Linux system can do this very well. I hope more people will participate in the development and development of the domestic system, only by your own real efforts will you not repeat the tragedy of the Linux system.
