Under the default settings of Windows Vista, a sub-directory is automatically created for each user in the "users" folder, it contains eleven sub-folders, including documents, links, favorites, pictures, music, contacts, and stored games. The files are stored in different categories, in Windows XPProgramRun related files to remove, that is, only the user's personal data is saved in the "users" folder.
However, this practice of coexistence of user personal data and system files in the same drive is not liked by many users, and there are some hidden risks in operations, such, to improve system maintenance efficiency, many users may prefer to perform a backup using the complete PC as the system partition after installing Windows Vista, in case of a system crash, you can simply restore the image to avoid the trouble of re-installing Windows Vista.

However, this setting of Placing user folders in system partitions requires that you export user personal data before recovery. Otherwise, it will be like the system file and settings, it is overwritten by the content in the image file, causing irreparable losses. -To be honest, it is inevitable that you forget to export personal data and other omissions. I believe many users have had similar painful experiences.
The simple solution is to remove the user's personal folder from the system partition. In this way, no matter how you operate the partition, use the image to restore or reinstall Windows Vista, the personal folder stored in other drives will not be affected, no data loss.
To move the user's personal folder to another partition, the operation is simple:
First, create a new directory in other partitions. Of course, for systems with multiple hard disks, it is better to store user data on hard disks outside the system partition, which is more secure.
Open the user's personal folder, select all projects, including documents and images, and drag them to the new folder by right-clicking.
Of course, you can also move only some specific projects, such as videos, to the newly created folder, and keep other projects in the "users" directory of the system partition.
