A pop-up menu is usually a menu navigation effect triggered by a mouse on a Web page, and a pop-up menu appears when the mouse is moved to a navigation object. When the mouse moves away from the navigation object, the pop-up menu disappears automatically.

To view a pop-up menu in a document, you must open the document in a browser window, and then slide the mouse pointer over the trigger image or link.

Production pop-up pop-up menu specific production process:

Select the object to which you want to attach the behavior and open the Behaviors panel and select Show pop-up menu from actions. As shown in figure:



In the Show pop-up menu dialog box that appears, use the following tabs to set options for the pop-up menu:

Content: Allows you to set the name, structure, URL, and destination of individual menu items individually.

Appearance: Enables you to set the appearance of the menu general status and slide over state and to set the font selection for menu item text.

Advanced: Allows you to set the properties of a menu cell. For example, you can set the width and height of the cell, the cell color and border width, the text indent, and the length of delay before the menu appears when the user moves the mouse pointer over the trigger.

Location: Allows you to set the placement of a menu relative to the trigger image or link.

Add, remove, and change the order of pop-up menu items

Use the Content tab of the Show pop-up menu dialog box to create a menu. You can also use this tab to delete existing items or to change the order in which they appear on the menu.

To add a pop-up menu item, do the following:

In the Content tab, create a pop-up menu item by doing the following.

In the Text text box, select the default text (new Item), and then type the text that you want to appear in the pop-up menu.

To create a submenu item, do the following:

In the Show pop-up menu list, select the item that you want to create as a child menu item, and then do the following:

To indent the input in the menu list, click the (Indent input) button.

To remove indents, click the (extrude items) button.

Note: You cannot make the first menu item in the List a submenu.

To set the appearance of a pop-up menu

After you create a menu item, use the Appearance tab of the Show pop-up menu to set the orientation, font properties, and button state properties of the pop-up menu. The following figure:

The preview pane of the Appearance tab outlines the options that you set in this tab. Set the effect you want, as shown in the figure.

Set advanced appearance options

Use the options in the Advanced tab to specify additional properties for the menu cell.

Click the Advanced tab, and then set the options that you want to apply to the menu item, as shown in the following figure:

Set the position of the pop-up menu in the document

Use the location option to set the display position of the pop-up menu relative to the trigger image or link. You can also set whether the menu is hidden after the user moves the mouse pointer over the trigger.

In the Show pop-up menu dialog box, click the Location tab. The following figure:

If you think there's a problem, we can also open the changes through the actions in the behavior panel. When you have finished modifying the pop-up menu, click OK and click F12 Preview.
