Dual-ADSL line: provides the best configuration scheme for enterprises. Therefore, you must first understand the basic knowledge of the dual-ADSL line to prepare for future configuration. For small and medium-sized enterprises, if leased line access is used in the selection of access services, it is likely that the cost will greatly increase the overhead and burden of enterprise operations, however, there is a problem of low speed through dialing or ADSL access. I believe many enterprise network directors have encountered the above problems.
So how can we design a network that can ensure bandwidth access and minimize access costs? This article will show you how to find the optimal balance between speed and price.
1. What access method is the best cost-effectiveness:
For small and medium-sized enterprises, the most common access methods include optical fiber access, DDN access, ADSL Access, and dialing. In comparison, fiber optic access and DDN leased line access speed is relatively fast. You can select the bandwidth as needed, but the corresponding price is also very high. Even if the price of 2 m fiber optic is larger than 2000 yuan per month, the telephone dialing method is relatively inexpensive. If dialing is successful, the cost is calculated.
However, this is only suitable for domestic users. For enterprises, it takes working days to connect to the network. In addition, the traditional telephone dialing service has very few monthly subscription services, therefore, in comparison, the price and speed of ADSL access are relatively balanced. The private-installed ADSL access can enjoy 150 yuan monthly 1 M bandwidth service in Beijing, even the monthly fee for the company-installed ADSL access package will not exceed 600 yuan.
However, when we select to connect to the network through dual ADSL lines, there will also be some problems with the speed. After all, ADSL provides the asymmetric service such as PPPOE dialing, the upload speed and download speed are severely asymmetrical, and the 1 mbps bandwidth cannot meet enterprises' efficient applications.
Therefore, we can apply for multiple dual-ADSL lines to compensate for the speed shortage, in terms of price, even the combination of multiple dual-ADSL lines is much lower than the cost of leased line access and optical fiber access. Therefore, the combination of multiple dual-ADSL lines is the best way for small and medium-sized enterprises to save money, while saving money and ensuring network transmission speed to a certain extent.
Ii. How to implement dual-ADSL line enterprise networks to save money and effort:
Since the dual-ADSL line is used to provide Internet access, how can the dual-ADSL line enterprise network be implemented to save more money and effort? Below I will list several of the most common two-line access methods. We will compare and select the best implementation method.
1) Multi-Wan port routing access method:
Some enterprises begin to bind multiple dual-ADSL lines through multi-WAN port access. they purchase a multi-WAN port router and then use different WAN ports to connect different dual-ADSL lines, then, the routes can be shared through the router's own load balancing or routing policy. However, the price of Multi-Wan Port Routers on the market is also above RMB. For small enterprises, the cost of fiber-optic leased line access is also charged for purchasing multi-Wan Port Routers.
2) The server proxy method provides multi-line access:
Some enterprises choose to use one server to establish a proxy service to save the overhead of the Multi-Wan port router, and then install multiple NICs on the server. Two NICs connect two ADLS lines, however, if another Nic is directly connected to an intranet switch or other employee computers, this method saves the cost of purchasing a multi-Wan port router.
However, when the number of computers in the enterprise intranet is large and the number of application services is large, the server load increases. Therefore, this method has high requirements on the server hardware performance, enterprises may also need to upgrade their existing servers. In addition, they must ensure that the server is enabled during network access, which also brings trouble for maintenance.
3) multi-line access provided by the virtual routing software:
Previous articles have introduced how to use virtual routing software to build an old-fashioned computer into a professional Routing Switching Device, by installing multiple Ethernet cards for an old-fashioned computer to simulate a route Exchange Device with multiple Ethernet interfaces, this method is feasible, but the virtual routing software has many functions that need to be registered for use, enterprises need to purchase the corresponding license agreement. In addition, during actual use, the equipment simulated by the virtual routing software performs average in terms of multi-line access and advanced route management, it cannot be compared with the performance of a real routing switch device.
Iii. Specific operations of the alternative connection method:
Next we will introduce in detail the specific operations of the alternative wiring method. First, we select a home Broadband Router. Generally, home broadband routers have four LAN Ethernet interfaces and one WAN access interface.
1) initial work of the alternative connection method:
We first connect each device to ensure the establishment of the network topology of the alternative wiring method.
◆ Activate two dual-ADSL line access services, and then select two ADSL cats. Of course, the ADSL cat should be offered free of charge by the Telecommunications Department when the line is activated.
◆ Connect an ADSL telephone line to the ADSL cat and bring out an Ethernet interface connecting a network cable to the home Broadband Router from the ADSL cat. Let's set it to lan4.
◆ Connect another ADSL telephone line to the ADSL cat and bring out an Ethernet interface connecting the cable to the home Broadband Router from the ADSL cat. Let's set it to lan3.
◆ Set the other end of the network cable connecting the WAN interface of the home Broadband Router to an Ethernet interface of the Broadband Router to lan2.
◆ Connect the remaining Ethernet interface LAN1 of the home Broadband Router to the switch or employee's computer of the enterprise, thus completing the initial work of the alternative connection method.
So far, we have completed the connection work. In actual use, our Internet access service has become two dual-ADSL line binding methods, the Internet access service provided will be the sum of the bandwidth corresponding to the two dual-ADSL lines. Of course, in terms of settings, we need to specify the Internet access type of the WAN interface as a LAN access method instead of PPPOE dialing.
2) The principle of the alternative connection method for providing multi-Wan port access services:
This article describes how this alternative connection method provides multi-Wan port access service. First, let's look at the four LAN interfaces of the Broadband Router. LAN1 provides access to the downlink device, when the connected device has a network request, it will send the request packet to the LAN1 interface. According to the working principle of the Broadband Router, when there is an Internet access demand, the packet will be directly sent to the WAN interface, currently, the WAN interface is connected to the LAN2 interface through a network cable, so that the packet is successfully sent to the LAN2 interface.
After the data packet arrives at the LAN2 interface, the four LAN interfaces are considered as a broadcast area, similar to the switches we usually use. Then each interface will receive the Internet access request, this will trigger the dial-up to The LAN3 and LAN4 interfaces, further facilitate the ADSL cat dial-up connection network, so as to successfully complete the packet routing function.
To put it bluntly, we can regard the entire dialing process as sending data requests to a switch with four Ethernet interfaces rather than a Broadband Router, so that data packets will be broadcast to each Ethernet interface of the switch, complete dialing and network access services.
4. Tips for dual-ADSL lines:
In other cases, because our ADSL cat supports multi-account and multi-dialing, we can implement the dialing function for an ADSL cat to use different network accounts multiple times, in this way, we can modify the network topology mentioned above, saving the ADSL cat connected by the LAN3 interface, and only using the LAN4 interface to connect to the ADSL cat, however, in this connection, make sure that your ADSL cat can dial twice and the bandwidth after the dial-up connection can be doubled.
V. Dual-ADSL line summary:
Although the alternative connection method can save the enterprise's network operation cost to the maximum extent and avoid the overhead of purchasing additional equipment, it can also smoothly implement the function of merging and accessing multiple lines, however, he also has some shortcomings. First, because we use a Broadband Router and do not have multiple WAN ports, we are managing multiple WAN ports and routing options.
Data Control is tricky. After all, the built-in functions of the device do not have relevant parameter settings. In addition, such connections enable data packets to bypass a circle, which affects the network speed to a certain extent, increase the number of broadcast packets on the four interfaces of the home Broadband Router. Of course, I want to introduce this method in a hope that it will be able to provide some valuable results, so that more enterprise network administrators can consider the problem and have a more flexible connection network topology.
