Dual-screen, 3-screen stitching-A card, N card-Windows, Linux

"Tossing is a kind of attitude towards life ". I bought a video card and made a record of the dual screen and 3 screen at the company.

The resolution is 20 inch x 1600.

Normal Dual-screen: one screen has a taskbar, and the other has no taskbar. The resolution is set separately. The wallpaper is repeatedly displayed with a resolution of 1600x900.

Horizontal Tiled Display: the operating system detects one display with a resolution of 3200x900. One ultra-long taskbar spans two screens, and one ultra-long wallpaper spans two screens.

3-screen horizontal stitching: the resolution is 4800x900.

Dual-screen vertical stitching: Similarly, the resolution is 1600x1800.

Glossary:

Big desktop: splicing mode. A is used in Linux.

Horizontal stretch mode (horizontal stretch desktop across two monitors): horizontal stitching mode, which is used by a card on Windows.

Large Horizontal desktop acts as a large horizontal desktop (horizontal translation mode): horizontal stitching mode, where n is used on Windows.

Advantages of Dual-screen splicing: Angry Birds works well (from one screen to another), and war games do well (Ruse ).

Disadvantages of Dual-screen splicing: racing games cannot be played (because the car is separated by the screen border in the middle. Such as "Blur", "need for speed 14"), shooting games cannot play (quasi-stars in the middle of the screen, such as cod4, cod6 ).

Advantages of 3-screen splicing: good war games (Ruse), good racing games (blur), and good shooting games (Medal of Honor).

3. disadvantages of screen splicing: High-Resolution pop-up video storage and pop-up video card. After measurement, ati hd 5670 1G is connected to three screens, and blur is not card (LAN is also supported) "ruse" is not card, "need for speed 14" occasionally card, "Medal of Honor" occasionally card, "cod4" and "cod6" can be adjusted to a resolution of x900, unfortunately, the sight is still elliptical, and Starcraft 2 does not support the resolution of 4800x900.

A card XP ordinary dual screen:

Tested On The ATI 690g integrated graphics card x1200 and two 19 inch monitors, as shown below.

The operating system detects one display with a resolution of 2880X900. One ultra-long taskbar spans two screens and one ultra-long wallpaper spans two screens.

Tested On The ati hd 4350 video card.

Tested On The ATI 690g motherboard integrated graphics card x1200, as shown below.

Card a win7 dual-screen stitching settings:

On Windows 7, The ati hd 5xxx series and above (including 5xxx) graphics cards are required. With the video card driver settings, the operating system detects one display and one ultra-long taskbar spanning two screens, one ultra-long wallpaper spans two screens.

The test failed on ati hd 4350. Right-click it and there is no "create group ".

The test passed on ati hd 5450 and on ati hd 5670, as shown below.

If you want to enable big desktop with the atidriver installed, the following error always appears: Error: Options, e.g. -- dtop and -- desktop-setup, are not supported when randroid 1.2 is enabled !. I had a hard time and didn't install it.

N card XP dual-screen splicing settings:

NVIDIA uses nview to set dual-screen stitching. Currently, nview dual-screen stitching supports Windows XP and does not support Vista and win7.

Tested on nvidia 9800gt.

N card win7 does not support dual-screen stitching:

N card on win7 does not support dual-screen splicing, because the driver does not support.

N-card Quadro professional card win7 supports dual-screen stitching

N Quadro professional card win7 supports dual-screen stitching and "enables mosaic mode.

Tested on nvidia Quadro 600 professional graphics card, as follows:

N-card Ubuntu dual-screen stitching effect:

One ultra-long taskbar, one ultra-high resolution, and one ultra-long wallpaper.

I tried it for one day, succeeded, and set it on nvidia g210 successfully, as shown below.

Steps:

1. download and install the NVIDIA official driver, refer to: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-install-nvidia-drivers-manually-on-ubuntu-10-04-lucid-lynx.html

2. Go to the desktop, sudo NVIDIA-settings, start nvidia x server settings, configure it to twinview, click "Apply", click "Save to x configuration file", and click "exit ".

3. sudo VI/etc/X11/Xorg. conf

Locate section "device" and add option "notwinviewxineramainfo" "1"

4. Restart sudo/etc/init. d/MCM restart on the desktop.

The N-card gefore home video card does not support 3-screen output:

The N-card gefore home video card does not support 3-screen output. It is connected to three monitors, with only 2 bright screens. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be applied to any operating system.

Most of the N-card Quadro professional cards do not support single-card 3 screens.

N-card Quadro NVS professional cards support output of more than 3 screens and have the opportunity to try again.

N-card SLI dual-card win7 supports 3-screen output:

The SLI multi-screen technology is actually a tough task for NVIDIA, because its GPU is the same as the previous generation in the display output, it can only support dual-link DVI, it is impossible to achieve single-card three screens, therefore, the game can only be rendered to three or four screens of two graphics cards with the support of a special driver.

ATI eyefinity win7 single video card 3 screen stitching:

The test is successful on the xfx news scene titanium hd5670 1g ddr5 to implement three screens, as shown below.

Graphics interface: displayport, HDMI, DVI.

Display: DVI, VGA.

Cables: displayport supports active conversion from VGA to HDMI to DVI and DVI.

After actual tests, three screens cannot be spliced and only three normal screens can be used.

After submitting a bug, amd officially replied that there is no timetable for Linux. please fix it yourself.
