In IE 8, Microsoft has a built-in search box, built-in Bing, Google and other search engines, the default state of the search box is adsorbed on the address bar.
Then, for some users who do not need this feature, you can follow these steps to hide and disable the search box in IE 8:
1. Win+r Run Gpedit.msc
2. Locate to:
Local group Policy-user Configuration (Users configuration)-Administrative Templates (Administrative Templates)-Windows components-internet expl Orer
3. In the list of settings on the right, find "Prevent Internet Explorer search box from displaying" (do not show IE search boxes)
4. Double click Set to Enabled
5. Restart IE effective
For machines that do not have Group Policy, you can modify them by using the registry:
1. Win+r Run regedit
2. Find the following key value
Hkey_local_machinesoftwarepoliciesmicrosoftinternet explorerinfodeliveryrestrictions
3. Right-new-DWORD32-named Nosearchbox in the right panel
4. Double-click to modify the key value of 1
5. Restart effective
