Easily install Mandrake 9.0 from your hard drive beta4

When the hard drive was beta3, I made a boot floppy with hd.img and installed it with an ISO file. This time, I'm going to change one way without having to make a floppy disk.

Last installation, with the CD1 ISO file, the results, installation can not find CD2 and CD3 on the content, had to install the manual installation CD2 and CD3, there are many uncoordinated things.

This time, I untie cd1,cd2 and CD3 and put them in a directory on the hard drive. Note that the RPMS2 and RPMS3 directories of the CD2 and CD3 are tied to CD1 directories, all in the RPMS directory.

The images directory in the hd.img untie, this is a DOS format floppy disk, which has Vmlinuz, hd.rdz,syslinux.cfg and other files. Copy these three files to a directory on your hard disk.

My existing LINUX uses the GRUB bootstrapper, so I added a startup option at the end of the file/boot/grub/menu.conf:

Note that the command-line arguments to the right of Vmlinuz are referred to as syslinux.cfg files, are transcribed (I'm not sure, maybe 32000 followed by a k, should be the same as in the Syslinux.cfg file), (hd0,5) is my example, Need to adjust according to the actual location of your files.

OK, REBOOT machine, when the Grub menu appears, select the last item and start booting the Mandrake installer. The installer asks Mandrake the location of the installation file and tells it to be in "a directory of a partition" (this time it is not the path to the ISO file). In this way, the installation process is smooth and there is no "File not found" dialog box.

Try installing VMware, this time it worked.

Install Scim,xsim again, intelligent Chen Jiao, alas, still all failed.

However, Xsim's failure is due to CONFIGURE, as if the db_cxx of what does not exist. This does not seem serious, perhaps can be solved.
Chinput of course still old habits, but also caused the fault. But I have to use it, because there is no other input method can be used at the moment.
