I'm sure you're familiar with the Remote Desktop feature in Windows Server 2003, and with this feature, remote access and management of the server can be easily achieved by any user. If you use the Group Policy Editor to further set up Remote Desktop, you can make it better for us. The following author for you to introduce a few of these settings.

Tip: To open the Group Policy Editor by clicking Start → run, type the Gpedit.msc command in the Run dialog box and enter the Group Policy Editor window.

First, allow/disable Remote Desktop Connection

We can allow or disallow the use of the Remote Desktop Connection feature through Group Policy. In the left window of Group Policy Editor, expand the computer Configuration → administrative Templates →windows component → Terminal Services directory in turn. Click Directory name Terminal Services, and in the right window, double-click the "Allow users to use Terminal Services remote connections" option. Then select the Enabled or disabled radio box under the Settings tab of the Properties dialog box and click the OK button.

Second, configure "data redirection"

By configuring client/server data redirection, we can set up the client resources that can be used after the connection is established. Double-click the directory Name "client/server data redirection," which lists the client resources you can set in the right window. If we want to use the client's sound card to play the audio file on the server after the Remote Desktop Connection is successfully established, you should double-click the Allow audio redirection option to select the Enabled option under the Settings tab in the Properties dialog box and click the OK button so that you can play the sound file remotely.
Third, set idle session connection time

After a successful connection is made, it is obvious that it is unsafe for some reason, such as forgetting to disconnect, to cause the session to be idle. However, we can limit the connection time for idle sessions. Expand the Sessions subdirectory, and double-click the set time limit for active but idle Terminal Services sessions option. Open the Properties dialog box, select the Enabled option under the Settings tab, select a time option (such as 5 minutes) in the Idle Session limit Drop-down list box, and click the OK button (see figure).

Addendum: adding Remote access users

In actual work, it is possible to use the Remote Desktop feature more than just the system administrator alone. Therefore, you can set permissions for users who have this requirement. Although this does not belong to Group Policy settings category, but I think it is necessary to add.

Right-click My Computer, select Properties, and click the Select Remote User button under the Remote tab of the System Properties dialog box. Then click the Add button in the Remote Desktop Users dialog box and click the advanced → find Now button in the Select User dialog box. Select the target user from the list of users.
