East China University of Technology, formerly known as East China Institute of Chemical Technology, since its establishment, the school has gradually developed into a national key university with engineering subjects, distinctive chemical characteristics, and coordinated development of science, management, grammar, and other disciplines. In 1993, it was approved by the State Education Commission, changed its name to East China University of Science and Technology.
Network status quo
Current situation:

The existing Computing Center of East China University of Technology has nearly 500 PCs, mainly distributed on the second floor of the computing center. The original network device uses two INTEL 550 TB as the trunk, and a 10-Gigabit downlink non-NMS switch to the desktop. Because it is a m trunk, the network storm is large, and the speed of accessing the Internet is slow.
After Transformation:
Adding 220 PCs on the fourth floor of the eighth tutorial requires m to connect to the computing center, and a core layer-3 switch is added to the Computing Center. A Gigabit Optical fiber connection is established between the computing center and the network center. After the transformation, the network implements VLAN division to isolate broadcast storms. The original INTEL 550T is used as a distributed switch to be uplinked to the core switch on a gigabit network school. Implement a 1-gigabit trunk layer-3 switching network. The computing center must be 1 Gigabit trunk, 1 Gigabit to the building, and 1 Gigabit to the desktop.
Requirement Analysis

Features of campus network applications
The campus network is different from the general enterprise network in China, which has the following characteristics:
1. large network load: To achieve On-Demand Video On Demand, CD software and data reading, and to use pure software for media network teaching, the multimedia information volume is greatly increased, high bandwidth requirements.
2. large workload for network management and maintenance: After the campus network is built, multimedia applications are the most important application. Computers are often used and used for self-learning, the utilization of computers is very high, so the management and maintenance tasks will be very difficult.
3. high utilization rate: because the computer will be applied to daily work, the utilization rate of network devices and PCs is very high.
Network Function Analysis
For the network system of East China University of Science and Technology, we believe that the following typical network functions and services should be available:
Network Reliability: the network must be able to ensure long-term continuous operation;
Network Service Quality Assurance (QoS): different users and applications can provide different service quality and transmission priorities. In addition, priority data packets can be discarded when network bandwidth is insufficient;
Network scalability service: Meet the needs of the East China Technology Computing Center in the future 3 ~ 5 years of rapid growth needs to protect user investment;
Network Security Service: ensures the legality of users' access to network resources;
Network Multimedia Service: Use Multicast Technology to Improve the bandwidth utilization of desktop video systems;
Network Management Service: Configure, monitor, count, and manage the effective operation of the network.
Network System Solution
Optical fiber cables are laid from the building where the Computing Center is located to the wiring rooms of other buildings, all of which use multimode outdoor optical fiber cables. The cabling in the building uses cat5e cabling products, and four pairs of UTP cables are laid to each work position centered on the wiring room.
Network Device
In view of the current situation of the East China Science and Technology Computing Center, we recommend the following solutions: place a core layer-3 switch in the computing center, configure 12 Gigabit Optical Fiber interfaces, and 1 for uplink to the network center; one is used for the downlink CISCO 3500, four is used for the downlink to the fourth floor of the eighth tutorial, three is used to connect three HP servers, and the other three are used as future extension interfaces ).
The original Computing Center CISCO3524 Gigabit connection on the DCRS-7504, the following cascade two INTEL550T, the original use of all switches cascade to 3624 and 550T.
The 220 information points on the fourth floor of octa are distributed in four classrooms, two of which use a 48-port switch DCS-3652 gigabit uplink DCRS-7504; the other two classrooms respectively adopt two groups of 72 port DCS-3628S stack switch gigabit uplink DCRS-7504.

VLAN and layer-3 switching policies
Through VLAN division, teachers are allowed to access certain file servers and applications, while students are not allowed. A cross-switch VLAN Based on port VLAN tags can be defined by the tutor or network administrator to implement limited access to file servers such as management. This port-based VLAN is more suitable for desktop users and other fixed users, while for mobile users who use laptops, such as teachers, the VLAN Based on IP subnet provides better application flexibility and simplicity, regardless of the area of the campus network, the Core routing switch DCRS-7504 can determine the VLAN and access to network resources according to its IP address. DCRS-7504 Based on ASIC Technology hardware routing switching function can achieve line rate across VLAN layer-3 switching.
Network Management

To accurately monitor and set up and manage the operation of the entire network device, we use the digital China LinkManager network management software to comprehensively manage the network of Digital China's network management switch products, including: real-time Monitoring of devices, monitoring and analysis of real-time data streams of switching ports, division and Management of virtual networks, and management of layer-3 switching.
The digital LinkManager network management system is a set of network management software that is highly integrated, fully functional, practical, and easy to use based on the Windows NT platform. According to the actual needs of Chinese users, shenzhou.com follows the five major functions of the ISO Network Management Model: performance management, configuration management, fault management, billing management, and security management, A self-developed network management system software with its own intellectual property rights.
