Transformation Application Goal: Realize the batch conversion of image format
Application tools: Photoshop
Difficulty in achieving: ★☆☆☆☆
As we all know, when using Photoshop to process images, some image formats are sometimes converted to other formats for various output needs. In general, we use "File/Save as" to convert a picture in a different format and save it in another way. But if there are hundreds of images that need to be formatted, is this a piece of work? Of course, using Photoshop's actions and batch functions is a good way to solve this problem.
Here we take the "f:\ Gallery" under the BMP format of the picture into JPG format as an example to illustrate the action function of Photoshop.
Recognize the action function
Photoshop's "action" is to convert a series of operations into a single action, with an action instead of many steps, so that the implementation of the task automation for many image processing operations to facilitate, while the user can also record and save a series of operations to create and use the action, In order to simplify similar operations in the future, the batch conversion format is the first to convert a picture format of the process to use the action function record, and then use its bulk processing function to achieve the goal.
Actual combat format Conversion
1. Run Photoshop, perform the "window/Display Action" command, bring up the action panel, or press the F7 of the keyboard to pull up the layers panel, then use the mouse to click the "Action" tab to pull up the action panel.
2. Click the Horizontal triangle button at the top right of the action panel select the new action item in the pop-up menu, pop the new Action dialog box, enter the name of the new action in the Name box, such as convert format, and select the action shortcut in the Function key Drop-down box, in the color Select a color in the dropdown box and click the OK button.

3. Select the newly created "format conversion" action, click the Action panel "Start record" button, start to format a picture conversion, that is, open a BMP picture for "Save as" operation. When a picture format conversion is complete, close the picture, and then click the Stop button at the bottom of the action panel.
Note: You should not do anything else in the process of converting a picture format, because these actions will automatically save the newly created "format conversion" action (Figure 1), and if you do something else, it will be recorded. In addition, when a picture is saved as a jpg, an option Setting dialog box appears, and this setting is the same as for batch conversion, so it should be considered carefully.
4. After recording the "format conversion" action, executes the file/Auto/batch command, pops up the batch dialog box, selects format conversion in the Action Drop-down box of the dialog box, and selects folder in the Source Drop-down list. Then click on the "Select" button, in the pop-up dialog box, select the "Gallery" folder below the "OK" button and check "Ignore Open action command", then select the folder item in the Destination Drop-down box and click the Select button to select the folder in the pop-up dialog box to store the JPG file. ; The remaining items are set by default (Figure 2).
Note: The "Ignore Open action command" check box must be selected, otherwise the "format conversion" action to open a file for processing after the stop, also can not achieve the purpose of batch processing.

5. When the setup is complete, click "OK" button, all files in the folder are in accordance with the rules of the action command, the "F:\ Gallery" under the conversion of all BMP files to JPG format, and if you want to use the bulk of the format to convert the picture can also use this action to complete.
Hint: In fact, through the action function Photoshop can also achieve a lot of other functions, and Photoshop itself with a lot of action, we can go to try, some of the action is quite practical.
