Acronis True Image is an excellent system backup tool. When creating a disk Image, you can modify the primary boot area of the hard disk so that the operating system cannot start normally, press the specified function key to restore the system and use the original system disk image file to restore data on the disk.

Acronis True Image provides user-friendly wizard prompts, so the operation is not complicated. For most friends, the most practical options are Create Image and Restore Image ). You can use Create Image to Create an Image file for a partition and place it in a safe place, such as burning to a CD-R or DVD-R disk, so that when the system encounters errors or data loss, you can recover it in time. Next, we will introduce several security techniques to improve system security:

TIPS: Start from scratch for System Security

During the installation process, the wizard will ask if you want to create a bootable recovery medium (1). You can select this option to create a recovery floppy disk or a recovery disc that enters the system in an emergency. When you cannot access the system in the future, you can use this floppy disk or CD boot system. There are a total of five recovery floppy disks. The emergency boot disk is divided into Full version and Safe version. The default value is Full version. The difference is that the former has a built-in USB/PC Card/SCSI device driver.Program. If a similar device may be used, select it. However, for most friends, you can select Safe version.

Tip 2: Secure partition to ensure security

We recommend that you back up the system in the Acronis Secure Zone that comes with the software. This partition is hidden by default and cannot be viewed at ordinary times, so that the virus will not harass it, it is also impossible to be mistakenly formatted, without affecting the security of the backup image. It can only be seen when the recovery manager is running (press the F11 key.

The program interface does not provide the option to create a security partition. You need to perform operations when creating an image file. Select Disk Image → Create Image. Generally, you only need to select the system partition (2) for the backup Image that needs to be restored with one click. Select Acronis Secure Zone here, click Next. A dialog box is displayed, prompting that no security partition is created. After confirmation, select a disk partition to create a security partition. Then, drag the slider to set the Acronis Secure Zone space. In this way, when you start the system, you can press the F11 key to enter the recovery manager instead of entering the Windows interface and then restore.

Tips

Considering the security of the system, the created Acronis Secure Zone cannot be easily deleted, and even the formatting operation does not help. The correct method of deletion is to uninstall Acronis True Image at the same time, in addition, you will be asked whether to allocate the space of Acronis Secure Zone to other partitions. Select Yes. Otherwise, the space occupied by the security partition will become unallocated space that cannot be recognized by Windows.

  Tip 3: create a one-click Recovery System

Users who have used an IBM notebook must like its one-click recovery function. In fact, Acronis True Image can also be used to create their own one-click recovery system, even if the system cannot be started, the one-click recovery function still provides graphic operation interfaces and mouse support.

Create an Acronis Secure Zone before activating the start Recovery Manager. Select the Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager check box to Activate the one-click Recovery function. Later, when the machine is started but the system is not started, press the F11 key to see the interface shown in Figure 3. Click the Acronis True Image icon to enter the graphic restoration interface, and double-click the Restore Image icon, select Acronis Secure Zone on the Wizard Page to restore the instance. Then, it is exactly the same as executing the restore wizard on Windows.

Tip 4: The image file can be modified at any time

The created disk image will be considered only after the system has encountered a serious irreparable error. After all, it is impossible to achieve 100% of the recovery, but there will always be some loss.

Acronis True Image provides a very useful mirror e Image, similar to the Ghost Explorer of Norto Ghost. With it, You can directly call the backed up mirror file, the program maps it to a virtual disk partition on the current system (you can select a drive letter after the drive letter), 4, then you can copy, cut, delete, rename, and other files on this interface, but you cannot add new files.

Tip 5: scheduled tasks automatically update image files

If you rely solely on Explorer Image to manually update or modify the Image file, it is still inconvenient. In fact, you may wish to use scheduled tasks to automatically update the previously created image backups and set them to be backed up in a specified period of time. This is all done automatically in the background without interrupting your normal operation.

Select Tasks → Schedule Task. to make Acronis True Image update only the changed part of the target disk partition, select Append changes incrementally to the last full image when selecting the backup mode, you can determine whether password protection is required based on the actual situation. After you click the Next button, the wizard does not pop up a dialog box asking the user to confirm the backup. The window shown in Figure 5 is displayed, you can customize the specific time for scheduled task execution. You can choose to perform backup operations at different times, such as daily, weekly, monthly, specified time, computer startup, computer shutdown, or N times a day.
