Have you ever forgotten your password in the Windows XP operating system? The following describes several methods.

Method 1:

(1) start the computer and use the DOS boot disk (for example, Windows 98 boot disk) to enter the pure DoS Status.

(2) At the DOS prompt, follow these steps:

CD \ (switch to the root directory)
CD windows \ system32 (switch to the system directory)
Mkdir temphack (create a temporary folder)
Copy logon. scr temphacklogon. scr (back up logon. scr)
Copy cmd.exe temphackcmd.exe (cmdcmd.exe)
Del logon. scr (delete logon. scr)
Rename cmd.exe logon. scr (rename cmd.exe to logon. scr)
Exit)

To enter the command line prompt status.

(4) At this time, we can use the command: Net user password to change the password.

Assume that a super Administrator account is admin and wants to reset its password to Admin. You can run the command: Net user admin and press enter to change the password.

(5) Next, do you want to enter the Desktop System and check what is on the hard disk? At the command line prompt, enter the explorer command and try again. Is it very smooth to enter the Windows desktop?

Tips

If you have an ordinary user account, you can change it to a super administrator account by using the method described above.

Mongologon.scrand usermgr.exe, Replace the example. exein Step 2 with usermgr.exe, restart, and wait quietly. In this case, the User Manager is not a command line prompt, but a User Manager. Then we have the permission to add ourselves to the Administrator group.

Method 2
During the installation process of Windows XP, users first log on to the system as Administrator by default. Many of them did not notice setting a password for it, but created personal accounts as required, after entering the system, you can use this account to log on. In addition, only the user account created on the Windows XP Logon interface is displayed, but the Administrator account is not displayed. The actual account still exists, the password is empty.

Once you understand this principle, you can start it normally. After the logon interface appears, press CTRL + ALT and then press del twice to display the classic logon screen, enter "Administrator" in the username field. If the password is blank, enter "user and password" in the "control panel" and modify the password of the user you want to modify.

Prompt before Password Expiration

By default, Windows XP displays a message 14 days before the password expires. To change the number of days, open registry editor, find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon], and double-click "passwordexpirywarning" in the right pane, set the number of days to be prompted according to your needs.

No Password is entered when the standby status is restored

Open "Control Panel" → power options, click the "advanced" tab, and deselect the check mark before "Enter password when the computer recovers from the STANDBY state.

Don't let your password expire.

Windows XP reminds you to change the password 14 days before the password expires. In addition to modifying the Registry to cancel the reminder, you can also enter lusrmgr. MSC, press Enter. In the pop-up local users and groups dialog box, select the "user" folder and find the user name you are using in the right window, for example, format. After double-clicking, the "format attribute" dialog box is displayed. You only need to select the "Password Never Expires" check box.

The logon page appears when you exit Screen Saver with a password.

In Windows XP, if Screen Protection and password protection are set, the computer is locked when the screen protection is exited. The welcome page is displayed. How can I log on to the screen saver when I exit?

Click "my computer"> "Control Panel"> "display". Under "Screen Saver" on the "Screen Saver" tab, click "Screen Saver ". Select the "password protection" check box and deselect the "show welcome screen" check box.

If you want to display the logon interface at startup, double-click "User Account" in "Control Panel" to open the "User Account" window, click "Change User Logon or logout method" to deselect the check box before "use welcome screen.

In this way, you can directly access the logon interface instead of the welcome interface, whether you are logging on or returning from screen saver.

Create a password reset Disk

In the past, when using Windows 2000, many users encountered the problem that they could not access the system because they forgot their passwords. in Windows XP, you can create a password to reset the disk, in this way, you can use it to reset a password when you forget the password. Click Start> control panel, and then click the user account. Click your account name below. In the displayed user account dialog box, select "Create a password reset disk ", follow the instructions in the Wizard to create a password reset disk. Note that the disk is stored in a safe place because anyone can use it to access your local user account.

Password prompt

Are you worried you cannot remember your logon password? It doesn't matter. When you first generate a password, you can generate a prompt at the prompt, windows XP saves the password prompt in the registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ current version \ hints.

Limit the number of automatic logins

This setting is used to limit the number of automatic logins. Once the number is reached, the automatic logon function is disabled and the system displays a Standard Authentication Window. Open Registry Editor, find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon], and create a string value named autologoncount in the right pane, set the value to the number of automatic logins. In this way, the number of automatic logins will be reduced once every time the system is started until zero. Automatic Logon is not allowed. Autologoncount and defaultpassword are deleted from the registry, and AutoAdminLogon is zero.
Disable shift when logging on automatically
When the automatic logon function is used, you can press shift to ignore the logon process and enter another user name and password to enter the computer. This technique disables the Shift key function during automatic logon. The procedure is as follows: Open Registry Editor, find the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon] subkey, and select it. Create a string value named ignoreshiftoverride in the right window and set its key value to 1.

Exit Registry Editor and restart your computer. In this way, the automatic logon process cannot be interrupted by holding down the Shift key at startup.

Allow others to access your computer

Open "Control Panel"> "User Account", click "Create a new account", and enter the name and password of other user accounts in the Wizard, finally, set the type to "restricted" and click "create account" to allow others to log on to your computer.

Allows a specified user to log on only at a specific time

If you are a parent, you may want to restrict the time your child uses the computer. You can implement it easily by following the methods below. However, you must have the Administrator permission.

First, go to the "command line prompt". Take the account guest as an example. If you need to set this account to log on from AM to Am from Monday to Friday. Run the following command:

Net user guest/Time: M-F,-, or net user guest/Time: M-F, 9am-5pm

It will take effect after you press Enter.

If you need to specify the daily time in sequence, you only need to follow the following format:

Net user guest/Time: M, 4am-5pm; t, 1pm-3pm; W-F.

The net user guest/Time: all command allows the user to log on at any time.

Beware of your encrypted files

From Windows 2000, Windows can help you encrypt files in the NTFS file system partition. Right-click the file or folder to be encrypted, select "properties", and click "advanced" on the "General" tab of the property. A window is displayed, select "encrypt content to protect data" in the window to encrypt the file on the NTFS Volume.

Tips

This is called EFs (Encrypting File System, encrypted file system ). The advantage of this encryption is that the encryption process is completely transparent, that is, if you encrypt these files, your access to these files will be fully allowed (you do not need to enter the password, because the verification process is performed when you log on to Windows), while others cannot access or move the data.

However, if your windows system crashes suddenly, you can only reinstall the system if you have no plans, but the previously encrypted data cannot be opened. At this time, only in the domain environment can you get the help of the domain administrator to decrypt these files. This is because when you use EFS encryption, the system will automatically generate a key based on your SID (Security Identifier, security identifier). This key is required to decrypt these files. For the system, the user name is not used to distinguish different users, but the SID is unique. The relationship between Sid and user name is the same as that between person's name and ID card number. Although there are people with the same name and surname, their ID card numbers are definitely not the same; although there are people with the same user name (that is, on the network, because the local user cannot have the same user name ), but their Sid is definitely different. This explains why the previous encrypted file cannot be opened even if you use the previous user name and password to log on after the system is reinstalled.

Therefore, it is best to decrypt all encrypted data before reinstalling the system. However, to cope with sudden system crashes, you need to back up your own keys. After the system crashes, you only need to reinstall the system and import the keys to continue using the previously encrypted files.

To back up the secret, click Start> Run and enter certmgr. MSC, press enter and open "Certificate Manager". In the "current user" → "individual" → "certificate" directory, right-click the certificate issued to you, click "Export" in "all tasks" and select "export the Private Key". Other options are set by default. Enter the password and save path of the user.

After the system is reinstalled, run certmgr. MSC as usual, select import in "all tasks", select the backup certificate, and then follow the Wizard to complete the import of the key. Or right-click the exported pfx file and select "Install pfx ". At this time, your encrypted data can be accessed.

Enable Secure File System

Open Registry Editor, find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ LSA], and change the forceguest key value to 1 in the right pane.

Method 3

When someone sets a password for their machine, and is not as clear as Xifeng tells you the password, we will crack it. Haha.

Use the net command

We know that the "Net user" command is provided in Windows XP. This command can be used to add or modify user account information. The syntax format is:

Net user [username [Password | *] [Options] [/domain]
Net user [username {password | *}/Add [Options] [/domain]
Net user [username [/delete] [/domain]

The specific meaning of each parameter has been described in detail in the help of Windows XP, and I will not elaborate much here. Now, we will take the "zhangbq" password of the local user as an example to illustrate how to forget the logon password:
1. restart the computer, press F8 immediately after the startup screen appears, and select "safe mode with command line ".

2. At the end of the running process, the system lists the selection menus of system Super User "Administrator" and local user "zhangbq". Click "Administrator" to enter the command line mode.

3. type the command "Net user zhangbq 123456/Add" and change the password of "zhangbq" to "123456 ". To add a new user (for example, the user name is abcdef and the password is 123456), enter "Net user abcdef 123456/Add ", after adding the account, run the "net localgroup administrators abcdef/Add" command to promote the user to the system management group "Administrators" and grant it super permissions.

4. restart the computer and select "run in normal mode" to log on to the "zhangbq" user with the changed password "123456.
