Eclipse builds the Salesforce development environment

2. Launch Eclipse and click Help > Install New software....

   
   
   

4. Click Add....
6. In the Add Repository Dialog, set the Name to "force.com IDE" and the "Http://media". Developerforce.com/force-ide/eclipse42 "and clickOK. (Use the same URL for Eclipse 4.3.)

   
   
   

8. Eclipse downloads the list of available plugins and displays them in the available software dialog.
10. Check the box next to the Force.com IDE plugin and click Next.

    
    
    

12. In the Install Details Dialog, click Next.
14. In the Review Licenses Dialog, accept the terms and click Finish.
16. Eclipse downloads and installs the force.com IDE and any required dependencies. When installation are complete, you'll be prompted to restart. ClickYes.
    
18. When Eclipse restarts, select Windows > Open perspective >Other, selectforce.com and click ok< /c5>.

Note:when you create a new project and you might is prompted about a new master password. This was a separate password of your choosing required by Eclipse secure storage, and was not associated with your force.com IDE credentials.
