Eclipse Director accuses Microsoft of lack of open Source Initiative

According to InfoWorld, in Tuesday, the Eclipse Board's managing director, Mike Milinkovich, spoke at the Eclipsecon conference, accusing Microsoft of pushing. NET and Eclipse Open source technology are not actively interoperable.

Milinkovich also refers specifically to OSGi (Open Services Gateway Initiative), an institution that provides the eclipse core plug-in standard for software development.

Milinkovich said he expects Microsoft to join eclipse as soon as possible, so that in-depth discussions can be conducted on further cooperation between the two sides.

The only current solution to this interoperability problem is that the Eclipse developer can connect to Microsoft's Visual Studio team Foundation Server product by installing the Eclipse Plug-in for application lifecycle management.

While such cooperation will benefit users, business analysts say it is a problem if Microsoft needs to increase its interoperability with eclipse.
