[Eclipse notes] Eclipse Project 3.1 Development goals and progress

The latest release version of Eclipse is 3.0.1, a 3.0 version that has been in vogue for a long time since the 2.1 version, and has been dramatically updated for both core features and interfaces. In my opinion, however, it has a great regret that, after all, is not a product that sun is willing to launch, and when this significant version is upgraded, it does not include support for J2SE 5.0. Unlike NetBeans, as if knowing exactly how j2se5.0 was released, the new 4.0 version was launched almost at the same time as the J2SE 5.0 release, with no disguise of proudly claiming to be the first javaide to fully support J2SE 5.0. Fortunately, the Eclipse project has accumulated many years of support and development resources, in the 3.1 of each version, the J2SE 5.0 of the supporting to gradually improve, has been launched 3.1M5A version, the J2SE 5.0 in the support of the various subsystems are also basically in place.

First of all, we need to pay attention to the following three points in the schedule:

Second, the documentation also mentions the three subprojects, respectively, what improvements have been made to platforms, JDT, and Pde, which are grouped into three categories: [OK] to include in 3.1, [consider] to include in 3.1, and [not intended] to be included in 3.1, fortunately there is no third. vi– Import and export ant build files, such as importing complete projects from ant scripts and exporting complete scripts from projects



I do not know what the attitude to this new version of Eclipse, the author is full of expectations, hehe.
