Eee PC experience Windows 7

Microsoft released the first test preview version of Windows 7 to developers at this week's PDC Conference. At the conference venue, Microsoft used Lenovo IdeaPad S10 to present the low-end configurations of Windows 7, especially the excellent compatibility of popular NetBook netbooks. The actual tests conducted by the media later confirmed this point.

LAPTOP magazine recently successfully installed Windows 7 Ultimate Pre-Beta on an ASUS Eee pc h. On this Eee PC, which only has Atom N270 1.6GHz processor and 1 GB memory, Windows 7 runs well, which is similar to Vista Basic. Only some drivers cannot be used yet.

From the start time, it takes only 58 seconds for Windows 7 to start on the Eee PC, which is faster than Windows XP and slower than 40 seconds for the pre-installed Linux system.

The new wireless network management function of Windows 7 is quite practical for NetBook.

In terms of memory usage, Windows 7 only occupies MB of memory on the Eee PC when it is idle, and the performance is quite good.

Eee PC scored 2.3 in Windows 7, slightly lower than Vista's 2.7.
