Just a year ago, cross-browser compatibility testing was not an easy task. The testing tools on the market had some defects, either too expensive, limited functionality, or very difficult to use. Recently, we have finally seen some new tools, some of which are outstanding. This article selects eight of the latest cross-browser testing tools, these seven simple tools make your work very easy, and they are completely free.
#1-xenocode browser sandbox
Xenocode browser sandbox changes the rules of Windows-based browser compatibility testing tools. You only need to click the mouse to open a bunch of browser windows, you can test IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, and safari in different versions. Is a real test, not a screen, this tool is completely free. The only pity is that Mac is not supported currently. They just moved to spoon.net/browsers /.
#2-crossbrowsertesting.com
Free users can get a test time of 5 minutes at a time. Crossbrowsertesting.com is very simple. After logging on, select an appropriate operating system and browser to start. Your testing system is a real machine with the browser installed on it. You can use a Java applet or VNC to connect to your testing machine. Like xenocode, it is a real test, not a screen.
#3-ietester
This is a Windows instance that can be downloaded for free.ProgramAnd is still in the early test phase. This is the only free program that can help you test ie versions. Download and install the browser. You can select the IE rendering version and start browsing. You can even perform a side-by-side test on the results of the two versions.
#4-browsrcamp
This is a safari/MAC testing tool. The free version provides almost real-time screens. Although different versions of the test function are missing, it is fast. If you are willing to make some money, you can also have full control of the entire test machine and perform a deep test.
#5-Litmus
This cross-browser compatibility testing tool quickly became famous in just a few months and has become one of the most popular testing tools. However, the free version only supports IE7 and Firefox 2 testing. The paid version has more features and supports a wide range of browsers and even mail clients. However, the monthly fee of $49 per user is not low.
#6-netrenderer
Netrenderer looks a little inconspicuous and is used to test ie compatibility. Like many services, netrenderer is screen-based. Supports ie5.5 to IE8, which is generated very quickly without waiting. They also provide a browser toolbar to quickly enter the test. This tool is free of charge.
#7-browsershots
Browsershots has recently become the most commonly used cross-browser testing tool. It supports almost all operating systems and browsers, including rare combinations. There is only one limit for free users, that is, they can be used only when paying users are not used.
In view of its popularity, it may be difficult to return to the test in a certain period of time, because it depends on the computer returned by the member user, the more common the operating system and browser combination you choose, the faster the return speed.
Bonus #8-Adobe meermeer
This is a beautiful test suite that Adobe will release soon. After its debut at Adobe Max for the first time, almost all people who have heard of this tool are interested in it.
Meermeer has obvious advantages. The most important thing to mention is its "Onion Skin" function, which can overlay different browsers to the results for comparison. It is worth looking forward.
