I. software to be prepared

1. winimage: winimage is a good tool used to process Disk Images. It is often used to create boot discs.

2. nlite: nlite is a free software. This software can be used to integrate the Service Pack and Windows Security Update programs for your customized Windows installation files, as well as common application software (including DirectX and ,.. 3. SATA driver: It can be downloaded from the official website of your hard drive manufacturer. The file size is very small, about KB. The downloaded driver is named f6flpy32.zip.

4. Windows XP system installation disk.

Ii. production steps

Next, I think that the Compaq presario series notebook makes an XP installation disk as an example. If your SATA hard drive is different from the one described in this article, the operation method is similar. Just change the driver file name.

1. decompress the SATA driver f6flpy32.zip file and release it to the "D: \ satadriver" directory to obtain the f6flpy32.exe file.

2. start winimage and use it to open "D: \ satadriver \ f6flpy32.exe". A list of eight files is displayed in the winimage program. Click "image/extract ", release all files in the list to the D: \ satadriver folder.

Note: You can also extract the drivers of multiple SATA hard disks and release them to the D: \ satadriver folder, so that the created installation disk is suitable for multiple SATA hard disks.

3. Put the Windows XP installation disk into the optical drive, and create the "xp sp3" folder on disk D ". Start the nlite program and select "simplified Chinese" to go to the next step. In the nlite program, select the location of the Windows Installation File, and click browse to select the drive letter of the CD. After the prompt shown in Figure 1 appears, click "OK ". Select the created folder "D: \ xpsp3", and then enter the system file copy stage. After the copy is complete, "d: \ xpsp3" will contain the system files required to create the boot disc. Go to the next step.

4. Do not make any settings in the "preset" and directly go to the "task selection" stage. In the select Task stage, select drivers and bootable ISO images (Figure 2), and then click forward to go to the next step.

5. on the "integrate drivers to installation files" page, click "insert", select "single driver" in the pop-up list, and select "D: the file "iaahci. INF "to open the file. In this case, the driver integration options interface appears. Select "text mode driver" and select "Intel (r)" in the list) 82801hem/hbm sata ahci controller (mobile ICH8M-E/m) "and click OK ".

6. Click "Forward". A Prompt window is displayed, indicating "application change ?", Click Yes ". After the changes are completed, create the following ISO image.

7. insert a blank disc into the recorder, and select "directly burn" from the drop-down list in "Mode" on the "bootable ISO image" interface (you can also select "Create Image ", create a boot disk based on the image ). Click "burn" to start burning.

8. After burning, the disc can be used as the system installation disk and has a SATA hard drive.
