emule download file disappears how to solve

Sometimes when a emule (mule) crashes, files in the download suddenly disappear from the list, and when you view the temporary file directory, the temporary files are still intact. This situation usually indicates that a. part.met file has been corrupted.

Conventional

Please exit emule before attempting to fix it.

Please read the-> directory to ensure that the directory-related settings are correct. You must enter the correct temporary directory path.

Backup

emule automatically creates a backup (. part.met.BAK) for all. part.met files. If a. part.met file differs in size or modification time of its backup (right click on the file and then select Properties to view), you can try to delete the. part.met file and rename its backup to *.part.met.

Recovery tools

The common Tools chapter provides links to a number of recovery tools. Back up the corresponding. Met and. part files before you try to recover using the tool. Modifications made to the file by the recovery tool will not be revoked.

Manually move

In some extreme cases, the damage to a. part.met file can even affect emule loading of other files. You can only manually add the download file one at a time to determine which/what files are corrupted before you can delete/restore them.

1. Move all files in the temp directory first to a temporary directory.

2. Move a. part file and its corresponding Part.met file back to the temporary directory.

3. Run emule to see if emule can properly identify this download file and add it to the download list.

4. Close emule.

5. Repeat step 2~4 until you find the damaged download file.

6. The damaged download file can be deleted directly or the repair tool can be used to try to repair it.
