The IBM Lotus Domino Web Access lite mode enables users to quickly access emails, contacts, and day-at-a-glance calendars. These client performance improvements use Web 2.0 technology (such as Ajax) and surpass 6.5.3 fix pack1 for the performance improvements that Lotus Domino Web Access brings.

Lotus Domino Web Access lite mode supports the browsers and platforms used in the Lotus Domino Web Access full mode. The Lotus Domino Web Access lite mode is fully integrated into the Lotus Domino 8 mail template and forms8.nsf. Therefore, as long as the Lotus Domino Web Access user upgrades the Lotus Domino Server and mail template to version 8.0.1, you can use the lite mode.

Lotus Domino Web Access performs very well in high-speed networks or browsers that can use the previous Lotus Domino Web Access session. However, when users try to use Lotus Domino Web Access in a low-bandwidth environment, they are often disappointed with client performance. In fact, we found that some users still use the old Lotus Domino webmail product in these environments (simpler web 1.0 HTML solution earlier than iNotes/Lotus Domino Web Access ).

Lotus Domino Web Access lite mode is provided by default by Lotus Domino 8.0.1. You can switch to Lite mode in several ways:

1. If you are using Lotus Domino Web Access redirect with a logon form mapped to dwaloginform, you can select this mode on the logon page (for example ).

The shared or public computer option on the logon page is also a new feature of 8.0.1. This feature supports full mode and lite mode. When this feature is enabled, it can pass the & RA = 0 parameter after calling Lotus Domino Web Access to prevent users from accessing attachments. For more information about this option, see IBM support expert te #1297042 "What is the purpose of the 'shared or public compute' option on the Domino Web Access login form ?".

2. Another way to access lite mode is to use the switch in the user interface of Lotus Domino Web Access full mode, as shown in.

You can use the inotes_wa_enablelitemode = 0 notes. ini parameter to hide the mode switch. This option is useful if you do not want users to use lite mode.

3. The administrator can also use the inotes_wa_defaultui = dwa_lite notes. ini parameter to set the Lotus Domino Web Access lite mode to the default mode for all Lotus Domino Web Access Users. When this parameter is used, the mail database accessed with an explicit URL (such as the http://yourserver.yourdomain.com/mail/tuser.nsf) will start in lite mode. However, in 8.0.1, if Lotus Domino Web Access redirect is used, the logon mode is used, regardless of the notes. ini setting. For more information, see Notes #1297981 "Domino Web Access redirect overrides the default mode set using the 'inotes _ wa_defaultui 'notes. ini parameter ".

4. The new url ui parameter & UI = dwa_lite can trigger Lotus Domino Web Access to open lite mode. It can also match? Use the opendatabase Domino URL Command together:
Http://yourserver.yourdomain.com/mail/tuser.nsf? Opendatabase & UI = dwa_lite
