Preface:

Some time ago, we processed the company's printer Server Linux for chemical engineering. The problem is as follows: hp1020 and hp1008 cannot be printed after power failure. When other printers are connected to a Linux printer, the printer can print normally after power failure.

In view of this situation, I searched for a lot of information on the Internet and found that the hp1020 and hp1008 bodies do not have a firmware-firmware, which needs to be written into the printer memory along with the driver to continue printing. That is to say, the memory is used when the hp1020 and hp1008 firmware are stored.

Due to the large number of Windows users, the technical team behind the scenes solved the problem of lack of body firmware. ---- This feature is manifested in the fact that the hp1020 printer is restarted to connect to Windows, and the hp1020 will be idling twice to work properly. One is the self-check of the printer itself, and the other is the writing of firmware to the hp1020 memory by Windows.

Remedy:

You can find the 1020. imgfile in the 1020 and p1008 packages in Windows,

In linux, cat/*/1020.img>/dev/usb/lp0 (lp0 is the serial number of the printer in linux)

Radical Cure:

To the http://www.openprinting.org/download foo2zjs or foo2xqx drivers, correct installation to linux, like windows, linux automatically to hp1020 import firmware.
