Encrypting hard drives with Windows Vista BitLocker

As you know, both the enterprise and the flagship versions can use Windows Vista BitLocker to encrypt hard drives, but these are all conditional.

Here are some Windows Vista BitLocker encrypted hard drives to make about finishing.

First, determine if your BIOS supports Windows Vista BitLocker Drive Encryption.

To use the Windows BitLocker Drive Encryption feature that is designed to work with compatible Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security hardware, your computer must have a compatible BIOS. If BitLocker and the TPM Management console do not appear to work with the TPM security hardware and BIOS, contact your hardware manufacturer for specific configuration and troubleshooting information.

BitLocker can also be used on computers that are not compatible with TPM security hardware. In this case, the user must insert a USB flash drive containing the BitLocker startup key on the computer before starting the computer. To use BitLocker without the TPM, the computer system BIOS must support the use of a USB flash drive during the early boot process.

The easiest way to do this is to open the Control Panel \ Secure \bitlocker Drive Encryption so that you can see if your computer is supported.

I'm sorry I don't support this technique, although I'm a flagship. I will not say any of the reasons that have been said above.

Unlike EFS, as well as file encryption. BitLocker encrypts the entire system drive, including the Windows system files needed to start and log on. You can log on and use files normally, but BitLocker can help prevent hackers from accessing your system files, hackers rely on system files to find your password, or to access your hard disk by removing system files from your computer and installing them on other computers.

Next I let's look at how to use it specifically.

The specific steps are as follows:

To turn on BitLocker:

1. Control Panel \ Secure \bitlocker Drive Encryption

2. Click "Open BitLocker". This will open the BitLocker Setup Wizard. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

The steps to close or temporarily turn off BitLocker are as follows:

1. Turn on BitLocker.

2. Click "Turn off BitLocker". This operation will open the BitLocker Drive Encryption dialog box.

3. To decrypt the drive, click Decrypt Volume. To temporarily disable BitLocker, click Disable BitLocker Drive Encryption.
