There are a number of users who may have encountered this problem, even on computers with Chinese version of Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, or Microsoft Windows 7. When you invoke the relevant menu options for Windows Startup Manager (Boot manager), the language of the Discovery menu option appears in English or other languages that do not conform to expectations. These menu items include the selection menu of the operating system you want to start (if you have more than one Windows operating system installed, ask the user which operating system you want to start), the F8 Advanced boot menu for a specific operating system (to select whether the operating system is in Safe mode, the last The correct configuration, such as special Mode boot menu), Windows Memory Diagnostics tool (Windows Memory Diagnostic) menu.

The display language of the Boot Manager related menu is saved in the BCD boot configuration database (boot Configuration data). When Windows starts, boot manager reads the language version of the boot manager-related menu from the BCD first, and then calls C:bootmgr and the corresponding language's BOOTMGR.EXE.MUI to make up the boot menu for the appropriate language. For example, if BCD records that the Boot Manager related menu display language should be Simplified Chinese, Windows will invoke C:bootmgr and C:BOOTZH-CN BOOTMGR. Exe. MUI file, which makes up the boot Manager menu in Simplified Chinese.

If the menu language information that is recorded in the BCD is set incorrectly, the language of the boot manager-related menu may appear to be inconsistent with the expected language. For example, if the user first installs the Chinese version of Windows and the English version of Windows consists of a dual-system coexistence, then the menu language information for the BCD record will be the last installed English version.

Special Reminder: Boot Manager can set language information for the selection menu of the operating system that needs to be started, the F8 Advanced boot menu for a specific operating system, and the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool menu. As a result, users may encounter problems with one or more of these three menus that do not match the expected language.

The user can open the cmd command prompt with Administrator privileges (right-click the shortcut to the command prompt, select Run as Administrator in the right-click menu, need to confirm the UAC security prompt), and enter and execute the following command:

 Bcdedit-set {BOOTMGR} LOCALE ZH-CN

(This command will change the display language of the selection menu for the operating system that needs to be started, which is the choice menu of the operating system that needs to be initiated, as in Simplified Chinese)

  Bcdedit-set {current} LOCALE ZH-CN

(This command modifies the display language of the F8 Advanced boot Menu for the currently selected Windows operating system to Simplified Chinese)

  Bcdedit-set {Memdiag} LOCALE ZH-CN

(This command modifies the display language of the Windows Memory Diagnostics tool to Simplified Chinese)

Finally, the user can enter and execute the bcdedit/enum all command with administrator privileges to see if the LOCALE value of the above item has been successfully modified to zh-ch Simplified Chinese.
