In the wireless network configuration, the configuration of the wireless router is relatively high. Most of the wireless faults are caused by incorrect configurations of the wireless router parameters. Therefore, correct configuration of wireless router parameters is a key factor that determines the network quality.
Causes of network instability
In a wireless LAN environment, when the number of client computers increases, the workload for network administrators to manage these computers increases. To improve network management efficiency, I believe many people will use the DHCP server that comes with the wireless router to automatically assign IP addresses, Gateway Addresses, DNS servers, and other parameters to the client computer; although this dynamic Address Allocation service is conducive to the effective management of customers' computer IP addresses in the wireless LAN network, it may also cause address conflicts. For example, in a wireless LAN, some important hosts need to use a fixed IP address to access the Internet for work reasons, at this time, static addresses and dynamic addresses are stored in the wireless LAN network. If we do not correctly set the DHCP service in the wireless router parameters, in this case, dynamic or static addresses may overlap, and address conflicts may easily occur.
For example, in a wireless LAN, there are six common computers surfing the Internet through a wireless router. Two of them are relatively important. We have manually set two static IP addresses for them, the two IP addresses are 10.176.6.112 and 10.176.6.113, respectively. The other four computers automatically obtain the IP addresses through the DHCP server that comes with the wireless router. If we do not set the address pool parameters in the DHCP server correctly, and include the IP addresses 10.176.6.112 and 10.176.6.113 In the DHCP server address pool, in this case, address conflicts may occur. For example, when a computer with the IP address 10.176.6.112 is not started, when another computer in the wireless LAN requests an Internet address from the DHCP server, when the DHCP server sees that the 10.176.6.112 address is idle in the current state, it is possible to dynamically allocate the 10.176.6.112 address to the normal computer requesting an Internet address. When an important computer that used the 10.176.6.112 address restarts the network connection, it will find that the IP address used by others has been used by others, at this time, an error message indicating IP address conflict will pop up on the corresponding system screen. This kind of online instability is caused by the failure of the network administrator to correctly set the DHCP server.
Modify wireless router parameters to solve Network instability
After figuring out the cause of network instability in the wireless LAN, it is easy to solve the network fault. We only need to enter the background management interface of the wireless router, set the address pool parameters on the DHCP server to ensure that the addresses in the address pool do not contain the IP addresses of important client computers. Of course, before adjusting the address pool parameters, we should log on to the computer system of important clients and use the "ipconfig/all" command to obtain the static IP addresses of these important computers, at the same time, they will be recorded. In the future, when configuring the address pool parameters of the DHCP server, the recorded static IP addresses must be excluded from the address pool.
For example, in this case, the network administrator enters the LAN Wireless routing background settings page, opens the DHCP server option settings page, in the "address pool" parameter settings box, enter the CIDR block address "10.176.6.30 -- 10.176.6.50". In this way, both static IP addresses 10.176.6.112 and 10.176.6.113 are excluded from the address pool and the remaining common client computers are required, in this way, we can ensure the stability of the wireless LAN.
Other preventive measures
In addition to correctly configuring the wireless router parameters to ensure the stability of the LAN, we can also take other measures to prevent network instability caused by address conflicts. For example, the most commonly used measure is to use the IP-MAC Address binding method; we can enter the wireless router background management interface, find the static ARP route table, important computer ip address and physical address manually specified, in the future, the wireless router will automatically check the network transmission data packet based on its built-in static ARP table. If the corresponding data packet cannot be matched, the wireless router will not forward it correctly. Through this technical measure, the network administrator can easily reject illegal users and impersonate legitimate computer IP addresses to undermine the network stability.
To prevent unauthorized users from modifying the physical address of the NIC to adapt to the static ARP table, we can also bind the IP address on the switch port of the LAN, filter the packet forwarding requirements of client computers with invalid Nic physical addresses, because the port address filtering function of the switch only allows normal client computers with valid Nic physical addresses to access the network.
If the network size of the wireless LAN is relatively large, we can also reasonably divide multiple work subnets to ensure the stable operation of the wireless LAN. To some extent, dividing a work subnet is actually not a technical measure, but a special measure that skillfully combines technical and management means. Divide client computers with the same or similar access behavior into the same working subnet, and correctly set routing policies and switching parameters, this effectively resolves unstable network faults caused by IP address conflicts.
Enhance network management by configuring wireless router Parameters
In order to ensure that the wireless LAN can run more stably, we should not only configure the above technology, but also strengthen management of the LAN network operation.
First, standardize the network operating system. Allow Wireless LAN Internet users to understand the dangers caused by random changes to the Internet parameters, and introduce punitive measures, and require each Internet user to strictly abide by the network operating system, for example, the Network Maintenance Management System can include: Internet parameter change system, Internet parameter application distribution system, and nic physical address registration management system.
Second, pay attention to the deployment of the wireless LAN Management System. It is good at using network management tools to realize initialization of static ARP route table binding, so as to improve network management and maintenance efficiency. It focuses on using professional network monitoring tools, promptly detects abnormal network access changes in the wireless LAN to improve network troubleshooting efficiency.
Third, reasonably set the virtual working subnet. Pay attention to the manageability and access simplicity of the wireless LAN without increasing the networking cost, the client computers with the same access behavior and the same access permission are reasonably divided into the same virtual work subnet, so as to weaken the danger of unstable network operation.
